[Evaluation of Digital and Systemic Short Interventions to Enhance Emotional Competence: A Pilot Feasibility Study].

OBJECTIVE: The present pilot feasibility study aimed to evaluate newly developed digital brief interventions designed to enhance emotional competence (EC) across different target groups (parents, romantic partners, small groups). The approach differs from traditional psychoeducation by combining behavior-activating elements with the involvement of close relational partners. METHODS: Four groups were compared: (1) an intervention group (IG, n=18) completing two units from different target groups; (2) an active control group (CGa, n=18) receiving psychoeducational videos without active practice

The role of streamer trustworthiness and attractiveness in enhancing viewer engagement and mindfulness in live streaming.

The current study aims to propose, develop, and validate a conceptual framework featuring viewer engagement and psychological consequences in the context of live streaming commerce. Focusing on how streamers' trustworthiness and attractiveness shape streamers' state mindfulness experiences for live streaming commerce among Uzbekistan-based consumers, our framework draws upon Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R); Uses and Gratifications Theory (UGT) and Social Cognitive Theory (SCT). Survey data generated 319 valid responses from livestream viewers in Uzbekistan, which were used to empirically ev

Understanding Toxic Behavior in Game-Mediated Social Interaction: A Systematic Review and Future Directions.

As multiplayer online games increasingly evolve into prominent social platforms, toxic behavior (TB), a range of negative player interactions, has attracted growing scholarly attention. However, existing research remains fragmented, lacking conceptual clarity and systematic synthesis. Thus, this study conducted a systematic review of 48 empirical studies on TB, examining its definitions, classifications and measurements, correlates, perceived consequences, and coping strategies. This study identified four main approaches to defining TB, including umbrella, subconcept, impact-based approach, an

Digital gender violence and family honor coercion: cyberbullying and digital blackmail among Palestinian women.

BACKGROUND: Cyberbullying and digital blackmail (ibtizaz) have emerged as serious threats to psychological well-being, especially for women in conservative and honor-based societies. In Palestine, these digital abuses intersect with patriarchal norms, cultural stigma, and the broader context of political occupation. While global research addresses cyberbullying's psychological impact, there remains limited empirical insight into how these phenomena manifest in occupied Palestinian territories and affect women subject to collective codes of honor, shame, and silence. AIMS: This study aims to f

Digital storytelling as a memory-making intervention for children and families in paediatric palliative care in Ireland: an adaptation study.

Memory making is a core component of holistic paediatric palliative care. However, traditional artifact-based keepsakes (e.g., handprints) are often passive and lack the developmental and cultural sensitivity needed for meaningful engagement. A more participatory, narrative-based, multimedia approach, such as digital storytelling, is therefore required. Following the ADAPT framework (Steps 1-2: Intervention-Context Fit and Planning Adaptations), this study adapted a U.S. developed digital storytelling intervention for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and their famili

Active Ingredients in Digital Cognitive Interventions: Integrating Dismantling Designs With Mechanistic Neuroscience.

Digital cognitive interventions (DCIs) have emerged as scalable approaches for treating cognitive dysfunction across psychiatric, neurological, and aging populations. Despite growing evidence of efficacy, little is known about which intervention components drive therapeutic effects or through which neurocognitive mechanisms they operate. As a result, null findings are often difficult to interpret, making it unclear whether interventions failed to engage their intended targets, or whether the targets themselves are not causally related to meaningful outcomes. This limits intervention refinement

Human milk for cancer care: Science-in-extension and gendered digital labor.

This qualitative case study examines how human milk is framed, negotiated, and justified as a therapeutic resource for adults with cancer within a large digital peer-to-peer human milk-sharing community. Drawing on discourse analysis of posts and comment threads from an online group dedicated to milk donation for oncology patients, the study analyzes how participants construct therapeutic meaning in a context marked by biomedical uncertainty and limited institutional guidance. The findings show that members selectively draw on a pragmatic mode of reasoning we term 'Science-in-Extension', in wh
