AIM: Pathological gambling and comorbid alcohol dependence often occur in combination. Disulfiram is one of the proven drugs for alcohol dependence. In addition to its inhibiting acetaldehyde dehydrogenase, disulfiram inhibits dopamine beta-hydroxylase and may thereby increase dopamine and decrease norepinephrine cerebral concentrations.
