AIM: To explore the relationship between professional regulatory systems and advanced practice nursing development in Europe.
BACKGROUND: Advanced practice nursing has expanded rapidly, yet regulatory frameworks have often struggled to keep pace with the extended scope of practice demanded by contemporary service delivery. Misalignment leaves new roles inadequately supported, with consequences for both patient safety and the broader transformative potential of the profession.
METHODS: For this cross-sectional descriptive study, key informants were recruited by purposive sampling across the W

CONTEXT: Nursing students, nurse educators, and nurses engage in clinical practice education and healthcare services through experiences within the complex clinical environment, and culture, in interaction with other healthcare professionals. During this process, learners and nurses become part of the community of practice, experiencing a socialization process where they develop both their individual growth and professional identity. Therefore, addressing the experiences of nursing students and educators regarding the clinical environment, and culture as a component of the community of practic

BACKGROUND: As the number of Americans living with dementia increases, healthcare delivery systems face increasing pressure to provide dementia-care services to improve patient and family outcomes. The primary care nurse practitioner (NP) workforce is critical to dementia care; however, many NPs practice in environments that lack organizational attributes needed to maximize their contributions. We examined the associations between the NP practice environment and key indicators of workforce sustainability-burnout, job satisfaction, and intent to leave.

PURPOSE: The menstrual cycle is an important but often neglected indicator of the overall health of menstruating adolescents. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) offer menstrual cycle-related practice recommendations for providers caring for this population. About a quarter of primary care in the United States is provided by nurse practitioners (NPs); yet, factors influencing their adherence to these practice recommendations remain underexamined. We explored factors that predicted NPs' reported adherence to ACOG/AAP menstr

SIGNIFICANCE/BACKGROUND: New graduate nurses experience substantial stress during the transition from student to professional practice, which may compromise their well-being and professional practice capabilities. While resilience has been identified as a protective psychological resource, limited longitudinal research has examined how resilience influences professional performance over time or whether well-being functions as a mediating mechanism. Understanding these dynamic relationships is critical for informing evidence-based strategies to support early-career nurses.

BACKGROUND: Evidence-Based Practice (EBP)—particularly in its nursing application, often termed Evidence-Based Nursing (EBN)—is essential for high-quality care. Yet its integration into clinical practice remains challenging for undergraduate nursing students. Gaps between theory and practice, limited statistical and literature appraisal skills, and unsupportive clinical environments hinder EBP adoption. In China, EBP implementation in clinical training is inconsistent, and students’ experiences are poorly understood. This study explores the EBP experiences of undergraduate nursing interns to i
