Analysis of chromosomal aberrations (CAA) was carried out in 27 radiation workers with cumulative exposures of approximately 500 mSv received over a period of 2-3 decades. A similar study was carried out in 20 age- and gender-matched healthy individuals who served as controls. The average age of the exposed group was 50 years, and that of the controls was 51 years. The absorbed radiation dose was calculated by using the linear component of the in vitro dose response curve established for 60Co gamma-rays. Data are submitted from the published literature and the authors' investigations on the state of lipid peroxidation (LPO) and antioxidant defence (AOD) in liquidators of the effects of the Chernobyl accident and those working under watch rate. Both groups patients revealed activation of LPO and AOD processes. Long-continued activation of AOD can lead to its exhaustion and become a trigger factor in the development of cardiovascular diseases and digestive disorders.

RESICALC is a computer program that models magnetic fields due to currents on arbitrary arrays and configurations of electric transmission lines, primary and secondary distribution lines, and ground and neutral return pathways. A high activity of combutec 2, prepared on the basis of soluble collagen, was demonstrated in patients with radiation injuries of the skin after the accident at Chernobyl. Combutec 2 can be recommended for local therapy of patients with skin radiation injuries in all periods of development of these changes.

This paper describes a near-field validation study involving the steady-state, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guideline model AERMOD and the nonsteady-state puff model CALPUFF. The present study examined the phytochemical composition, antioxidant, antimicrobial properties, and molecular docking of different solvents extracts (methanol and water) of two medicinal plants, namely, Capparis spinosa L (CS) and Rumex nervosus (RN). Our acceptance of exposure to radiation is somewhat schizophrenic. We accept that the use of high doses of radiation is still one of the most valuable weapons in our fight against cancer, and believe that bathing in radioactive spas is beneficial. On the other hand, as a species, we are fearful of exposure to man-made radiation as a result of accidents related to power generation, even though we understand that the doses are orders of magnitude lower than those we use everyday in medicine. The 70th anniversary of the detonation of the atomic bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki was marked in 2015.
