A 2-week-old girl was found to have an asymptomatic abdominal mass on routine examination. Surgical removal revealed the mass to have 4 limb buds situated relative to a palpable vertebral column. Karyotyping revealed the mass to be 46 XX. The mass was therefore diagnosed as a case of fetus-in-fetu. The literature on this rare entity is reviewed, and the diagnosis and pathogenesis of the disease are discussed.

A 52-year-old man, who had been treated for left mega-hydronephrosis (5.6L) 25 years ago in our hospital, recently complained of left lumbago and fever. An abdominal CT scan revealed a cystic mass partially surrounded by calcification in the retroperitoneal space, which appeared to be a hydronephrosis. BACKGROUND: Retroperitoneal ectopic pregnancy is extremely rare. This unusual location represents a great challenge for clinicians due to the difficulties of diagnosis and high risk of life-threatening complications.
CASE REPORT: We report the case of a spontaneous early pregnancy of undetermined location in a patient with a history of previous laparoscopic surgery. We report 3 patients on continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) who developed reversible ultrafiltration failure secondary to retroperitoneal leakage. The patients presented with pulmonary edema and fluid overload following a sudden onset of ultrafiltration failure on maintenance CAPD.
