We report a case of multiple hepatic epithelioid hemangioendothelioma( EHE) mimicking hepatic metastasis of colon cancer. A 71-year-old man was referred to our hospital for further evaluation of multiple hepatic tumors. Enhanced CT scan was not performed because of renal dysfunction. Total colonoscopy revealed a type 1 cancer at the rectosigmoid junction. We therefore diagnosed the hepatic tumors as metastases from rectal cancer. Anterior resection was performed and postoperative chemotherapy targeting the hepatic tumors was carried out. Unfortunately, the size of the hepatic tumors increased.

We describe a 68-year-old woman diagnosed as having a colonic adenocarcinoma associated with traditional serrated adenoma (SA) with submucosal invasion of the sigmoid colon. Colonoscopy revealed a 0-IIa+IIc colon cancer with a SA component, about 12 mm in diameter, in the sigmoid colon. She underwent laparoscopy-assisted resection of the sigmoid colon. Cronkhite-Canada syndrome is generally accepted as being a benign disorder. We herein present a 66-year-old-male patient with Cronkhite-Canada syndrome who had a carcinoma of the sigmoid colon along with multiple colonic polyps, which included juvenile-type polyps, adenomas, and hyperplastic polyps. In the world literature, there have been 34 cases of Cronkhite-Canada syndrome associated with colorectal carcinoma among the 280 reported cases of this syndrome. This paper presents a case of malignant fibrous histiocytoma localized in the sigmoid colon with multiple metastases in the right lobe of the liver and describes the pathological and microscopic aspects, clinical course and characteristics. Carcinoma of the large bowel in association with pregnancy is extremely rare. A case report is presented, where the patient had a malignant tumour in the sigmoid colon with metastases in the liver. The diagnosis was made at caesarean section after acute onset of symptoms 3 weeks prior to the expected date of delivery. The case is discussed in some detail.

Endometriosis is a common disease of women which occasionally causes serious symptoms in virtue of involvement of the distal large intestine. Two cases are reported, illustrating opposite ends of the spectrum of this disorder, one presenting with a complete large-bowel obstruction, and the other with periodical per-rectal bleeding. Endometriosis in these locations can closely mimic carcinoma, and from a consideration of our cases and the literature, those features which might help to distinguish one from the other are discussed. In a 46-year-old patient lymphogranulomatosis was found localized exclusively in the rectosigmoid region. The stenosing tumour was removed by resection of the sigmoid colon. Two cases of sigmoid and anal adenocarcinoma are reported. The two patients were treated by abdominoperineal resection of the rectum and resection of the sigmoid colon. The relationship between colonic adenocarcinoma and anal adenocarcinoma is not obvious but possible. The various mechanisms of tumoral spread are discussed and the most frequent mechanism seems to be cellular exfoliation.

Two cases of benign tumours complicating ureterosigmoidostomy are described. The latent period between diversion and the development of tumour is long and careful follow-up of patients with ureterosigmoidostomy is recommended. It would seem highly probable that adenomatous polyps developing at the site of anastomosis may, if undetected, undergo malignant change to adenocarcinoma. All of the tumours recorded following ureterosigmoid diversion have been associated with a nipple type ureterocolic anastomosis and mucosa-to-mucosa anastomosis may possibly prevent this complication.
