Desiccation survival times of adult mosquitoes were studied for yellow fever mosquito, Aedes aegypti (L.) (6 strains), Asian tiger mosquito, Ae. albopictus (Skuse) (5 strains), and Ae. paullusi Stone & Farmer (1 strain) colonized from South Sulawesi, Indonesia. At both 90 and 70% RH, Ae. aegypti males and females outlived the other species. The forest species Ae. paullusi was least resistant to desiccation. BACKGROUND: Adrenal vein sampling (AVS) is the preferred method for subtyping patients with primary aldosteronism, while the procedure is technically challenging. This study evaluated the feasibility and effectiveness of a single-catheter approach for AVS.
METHODS: A retrospective analysis of 106 consecutive patients who underwent AVS was performed to determine the procedural success and complication rates. Bilateral AVS procedures were performed using a single 5-Fr Tiger catheter with repeated manual reshaping.

INTRODUCTION: The Official Journal of the European Union published on January 17, 2014 the Council Directive 2013/59/EURATOM of December 5, 2013, which establishes basic safety standards for the protection against the dangers derived from the exposure to ionizing radiation, and should have been transposed to the regulations of the member countries of the European Union.
METHODS: We carried out and exhaustive review of the Directive, to highlight its aspects referred to radiotherapy, in order to issue recommendations for its adequate and effective application in Spain.

CASE SERIES: This case series describes secondary immune-mediated haemolytic anaemia (IMHA) in four dogs following elapid snake envenomation and its treatment. All the dogs initially presented with clinical signs commensurate with mainland tiger snake (Notechis scutatus) envenomation. None of the dogs was anaemic at the time of presentation.
