Primary malignant melanoma of a female urethra is extremely rare. A 71-year-old female was referred to our hospital with bleeding from the urethral meatus. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed a mass of 25 mm in diameter at the external urethral meatus. She underwent anterior pelvic exenteration and ileal conduit diversion. Urethral strictures may present due to many causes. Obstructive urinary symptoms secondary to urethral malignancy is a rare presentation. Moreover, primary giant-cell tumor (GCT) arising in the urethra is an extremely unusual entity, which, to the best of our knowledge, has not been described till date; therefore, the clinical behavior is uncertain. We report a clinically unsuspected case of GCT of the urethra, who presented with urethral stricture.

Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the anterior urethra in men is rare, comprising less than 1% of all urologic cancers. The mean age at diagnosis is 60 years and it is nearly twice as common in black men compared with white men. We detail a case of SCC of the anterior urethra in a man presenting with an inguinal mass, meatal stenosis, and balanitis.

We report a case of primary malignant melanoma (MM) of the female urethra. A 60-year-old female complained bleeding from the urethral meatus. We report a case of congenital stenosis of the external orifice of the urethra in a female child who underwent meatoplasty. Tumors of the urethra, whether primary or metastatic, are very rare. The true nature of urethral neoplasm is not always obvious clinically nor in routine histological sections. Immunostains should be performed on such lesions because of management implications. We present a case of multiple metastases to the urethra from a prostatic carcinoma, masquerading as multiple urothelial carcinomas. Pathologists and urologists should be aware of the possibility of metastasis from the prostate.

For reconstructive interventions on the urethra the use of autologous buccal mucosa has a proven value. The aim of this study was to generate an in vitro preparation which is already infiltrated by capillary-like structures and is more rapidly incorporated after implantation. Commercially available collagen matrices which have been approved for use in humans were used as the substrate. Application possibilities of such artificial tissue in addition to reconstruction of the urethra include coverage of large defects in the oral, neck, nasal and aural areas, in gynecology and in ophthalmology.

BACKGROUND: Primary malignancies arising in the urethra are rare and, contrary to the other genitourinary malignancies, are more common in female patients. The pathologic diagnosis of primary adenocarcinoma can be challenging due to its rarity and overlapping features with other primary and secondary malignancies. We present a case of a patient with malignant melanoma of the glans penis and urethra, which was found in a 53-year-old man with nonhealing ulcerative penile lesion and bilateral, clinically palpable inguinal lymphadenopathies at diagnosis. Urethral diverticula are pouches opening into the urethral canal that may be either acquired or congenital. Diverticula of the female urethra are fairly common. However, diverticula of the male urethra are relatively uncommon abnormalities. Clinical manifestation is frequently described with irritative and/or obstructive voiding symptoms or ventral bulging, but manifestation as a scrotal mass is extremely rare.
