Subglottic granular cell tumors (GCT) are rare, potentially life threatening benign tumors. Complete resection is necessary, yet care must be taken to preserve laryngeal function. We present the first description of a pediatric subglottic GCT with extensive invasion beyond the confines of the subglottis to include the vocal folds and central neck. Urgent endoscopic debulking avoided tracheotomy and facilitated extubation. Later, complete resection required hemithyroidectomy, laryngofissure and partial cricotracheal resection. PURPOSE: While approximately 25% of patients undergoing radical cystectomy for bladder cancer have nodal metastases, the role and extent of pelvic lymphadenectomy remain controversial. A 31-year-old man presented with edema in left lower leg and dyspnea. Computed tomographic scanning detected a right testicular tumor, multiple lung nodules, and inferior vena cava (IVC) thrombus. After insertion of an IVC filter, high inguinal orchiectomy was performed after the first combination chemotherapy. Pathological examination demonstrated an embryonal carcinoma with vascular invasion and direct tumoral extension into the right spermatic cord. According to our survey, this is the 14th case of testicular tumor with IVC thrombus in Japan.

Primary cutaneous ductal apocrine adenocarcinoma (PCDAA) is a rare malignant cutaneous neoplasm usually arising in areas of high apocrine gland density. We describe our experience in a patient with a congenital solitary kidney encased by a perirenal liposarcoma managed by nephron-sparing excision. The best predictor of survival with liposarcoma is complete resection of the tumor. Generally a diffuse peri-renal liposarcoma arising within Gerota's fascia would necessitate a radical nephrectomy.
