BACKGROUND: Endobronchial lipoma is a very rare benign lung tumor. Therapeutic alternatives are the interventional bronchoscopic laser resection or surgical treatment.
METHODS: From 1996 to 2002 we diagnosed 16 patients with endobronchial lipoma in our institution. We examined the clinical data of the patients and their influence on the individual patient treatment.

The kinetics of Ca(2+)-induced contractions of chemically skinned guinea pig trabeculae was studied using laser photolysis of NP-EGTA. We report here a comprehensive proteomic analysis of senile plaques from postmortem AD brain tissues. The potential of Light Scattering Immunoassay (LIA) for detection of HIV in human blood serum has been explored by monitoring the agglutination of antigen coated polystyrene particles by dynamic light scattering. ELISA tested human sera having HIV, TB, Filaria along with normal sera have been analyzed using two specific synthetic peptide antigen (SP1, SP2) and one nonspecific peptide antigen (NSP). Few paired human sera and urine samples and nonspecific (of nonHIV diseases) urine samples have also been tested using the same antigens to check the possibility of replacement of sera by urine.

PURPOSE: To report our results using PRK combined with PTK to treat keratoconus.
METHODS: Forty-one patients (70 eyes) underwent PRK+PTK with a Nidek EC-5000 excimer laser. PRK included spherical or cylindrical ablations, or both. PRK ablation zone diameter was 6.00 mm.
