Performance of risk prediction models for pancreatic cancer in patients with new-onset diabetes: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

BACKGROUND: New-onset diabetes (NOD) can precede the clinical diagnosis of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and may indicate occult or preclinical disease. However, identifying the small subgroup of patients with NOD who are at sufficiently high risk to justify further evaluation remains challenging. This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the performance of PDAC risk prediction models in patients with NOD and summarized their reported discriminative ability. METHODS: We systematically searched PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science from inception to March 16, 2026. Eligible stu

Traction-assisted versus conventional endoscopic submucosal dissection for colorectal lesions: an updated systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized trials.

BACKGROUND: Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) allows en bloc, organ-sparing removal of large superficial colorectal lesions; however, conventional ESD (C-ESD) is often time intensive, technically challenging, and associated with clinically relevant adverse events. Traction-assisted ESD (TA-ESD) was developed to enhance submucosal visualization and maintain a stable dissection plane. Still, its overall impact on efficiency, effectiveness, and safety, particularly across different levels of operator experience, remains unclear. We therefore compared TA-ESD with C-ESD for superficial colorec

Feedback-enhanced electronic monitoring for asthma inhaler adherence: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.

BACKGROUND: Asthma affects an estimated 260 million people worldwide. Adherence to inhaled corticosteroids ranges from 22% to 63% and accounts for about 24% of exacerbations. Feedback-enhanced electronic monitoring couples electronic recording of inhaler use with active feedback, unlike passive monitoring. Randomized trial evidence for this approach has not been synthesized. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of feedback-enhanced electronic monitoring on medication adherence, exacerbations, disease control, health-related quality of life, safety and acceptability in people with asthma. Type 1 diabetes intervention clusters in resource-limited settings: a systematic review and economic evaluation.

BACKGROUND: Over 9 million people are living with type 1 diabetes globally, with a disproportionate burden in resource-limited settings where access to care remains constrained. Individual interventions have shown modest benefits, but coordinated intervention clusters could achieve greater health impact. We aimed to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of intervention clusters for type 1 diabetes management in resource-limited settings. METHODS: We conducted a systematic review (PRISMA 2020) searching PubMed/MEDLINE, Embase, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Web of Science Core Colle

Global inequities in representation of low-income and middle-income countries in vaccine clinical trials: protocol for a systematic review and meta-epidemiological analysis.

INTRODUCTION: Vaccines are among the most cost-effective public health interventions and remain central to global strategies for preventing and controlling infectious diseases. Evidence generated from clinical trials informs policy decisions regarding vaccine development, regulatory approval and large-scale implementation. The low-income and middle-income countries (LMICs) bear a disproportionately higher burden of vaccine-preventable diseases and are frequently the primary targets of global immunisation programmes. In spite of this, there have been long-standing concerns regarding inequities

Strategies, interventions, and uptake of catch-up vaccination among adolescent and adult migrants, refugees, and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs): A systematic review.

BACKGROUND: Catch-up vaccination helps close immunity gaps among migrants, refugees and internally displaced people (IDPs) in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Despite immunisation life-course policies and global guidelines promoting catch-up vaccination of arriving migrants, vaccination strategies for adolescent and adult populations are poorly described. We synthesised evidence on catch-up vaccination strategies and interventions, delivery platforms, uptake and coverage, and contextual barriers and enablers in LMICs. METHODS: We searched Embase, Medline, PsycINFO, Global Health, Web

Physical Training in Parkinson's Disease: A Systematic Review of Neurobiological Mechanisms, Brain-Muscle Adaptations, and Implications for Personalized Rehabilitation.

BACKGROUND: Physical Training (PT), defined a planned, structured, and long-term exercise intervention, is recognized as an important non-pharmacological therapy in Parkinson's disease (PD). Beyond its symptomatic benefits, experimental evidence suggests that PT may also modulate pathological mechanisms involved in dopaminergic neurodegeneration. This systematic review summarizes the neurobiological and neurophysiological adaptations induced by PT in animal models of PD and in patients with PD, and proposes mechanistically driven recommendations for personalized exercise prescription.
