In this study, 2887 Salmonella strains were mainly obtained from patients and foods in Shanghai from 2006 to 2014 in order to assess the susceptibility to 16 antibiotics. Among them, 3.8% (110/2887) S. Enteritidis isolates were shown to have an ACSSuT (ampicillin, chloramphenicol, streptomycin, sulfamethoxazole, and tetracycline) resistance pattern. An investigation into an outbreak of Salmonella Newport infections in Canada was initiated in July 2020. Cases were identified across several provinces through whole-genome sequencing (WGS). BACKGROUND: Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) is highly prevalent in the Cote d'Ivoire and has severe health and economic consequences. In this paper, we apply a health economic model to quantify the burden of IDA, and the contribution of nationwide mandatory iron fortification of wheat flour and voluntary iron fortification of condiments to the reduction of this burden.
METHODS: The analysis for the population from 6 months to 64 years builds on published reviews and publicly available datasets and is stratified by age-groups and socioeconomic strata using comparative risk assessment model.

In developed countries, pregnancy-related listeriosis accounts for 20-43% of total invasive listeriosis. This work describes the first pregnancy-related listeriosis survey in Italy based on two data sources, that is, mandatory notification system and regional laboratory-based network. Clonorchis sinensis is currently the most important parasite affecting public health problems in the Republic of Korea. We investigated the prevalence of C. sinensis infection among residents living along 5 major rivers in Korea. A total of 42,562 individual stool samples were collected from 37 localities and examined using the formalin-ether sedimentation technique.
