The electronic structure of laser-deposited P-doped ZnO films was investigated by X-ray absorption near-edge structure spectroscopy (XANES) at the O K-, Zn K-, and Zn L3-edges. While the O K-edge XANES spectrum of the n-type P-doped ZnO demonstrates that the density of unoccupied states, primarily O 2p-P 3sp hybridized states, is significantly high, the O K-edge XANES spectrum of the p-type P-doped ZnO shows a sharp decrease in intensity of the corresponding feature indicating that P replaces O sites in the ZnO lattice, and thereby generating P(O). The recovery of unconjugated bilirubin from human amniotic fluid was studied using dichloromethane, chloroform/isopropanol (3:1 vol/vol), and chloroform/ methanol (3:1 vol/vol) extraction of human amniotic fluid that had been supplemented with bilirubin at various concentrations. Two 10-hydroxybenzo[h]quinoline metal complexes, bis(10-hydroxybenzo[h]quinolinato) beryllium (Bebq2) and bis(10-hydroxybenzo[h]quinolinato)zincum (Znbq2), have been synthesized. The tin oxide and silicon oxide films have been deposited on polycarbonate substrates as gas barrier films, using a thermal evaporation and ion beam assisted deposition process. An automated HPLC method with column switching is described for the determination of quetiapine, clozapine, perazine, olanzapine and metabolites in blood serum. After clean-up on silica C8 material (20 microm particle size) drugs were separated on ODS Hypersil C18 material (5 microm; column size 250 mm x 4.6 mm i.d.) within 25 min and quantified by ultraviolet (UV) detection at 254 nm. Several 1-aryloxy-2-substituted aminomethyltetrahydronaphthalenes (7-21) as conformationally rigid analogues of fluoxetine were synthesized and evaluated for their anorexigenic and antidepressant activities. For SAR studies the related acyclic analogues (22-27) were also prepared. Molecular complex formation between [60]- and [70]fullerenes with a series of phosphine oxides, namely, tri-n-octyl phosphine oxide, triphenyl phosphine oxide and tri-n-butyl phosphine oxide has been studied in CCl4 medium by NMR spectrometric method. Livers from cull ewes and market lambs raised in Ontario were obtained to determine the status of specific minerals and vitamin E.
