DATA SOURCES: Data-based publications, topical reviews, and book chapters.
DATA SYNTHESIS: Articles specific to ovarian cancer were reviewed to examine whether the six rules from the Hanahan and Weinberg conceptual framework were applicable to biomarkers of ovarian cancer. This approach allows for the application of a general framework for the development of solid tumors to the development of ovarian cancer.

Fifty patients of contact vitiligo were studied. Etiological agents of contact vitiligo were identified by clinical history, distribution of lesions and patch testing with suspected material. Maintenance effect of topical timolol was investigated for 2 years in a group of 125 glaucomatous and ocular hypertensive patients (231 eyes) who had been successfully treated with timolol alone during a 6-month period preceding this trial. Intraocular pressure (IOP) was controlled with timolol alone in 135 of 183 eyes (74%) that completed the study. At the end of the trial 142 eyes (78%) showed an IOP of less than 22 mmHg. PURPOSE: Ocular allergy is a common disease that is on the rise. Seasonal and perennial conjunctivitis are the most common forms of ocular allergy. Itching, hyperemia, foreign body sensation, irritation, blurred vision or ocular dryness sensations, tearing, and photophobia are the clinical signs observed in patients. A topical antiallergic treatment is prescribed associated with ocular cleaning to contribute to an antigen washing of the ocular surface. BACKGROUND: Oral steroids are recommended for the treatment of nasal polyps (NPs), but prolonged use is avoided because of side effects. Topical steroids can also control NPs without significant complications; however, the response to this is partially successful, and additional therapies are needed to treat glucocorticoid-resistant NPs. Azathioprine (AZA) and its first metabolite 6-mercaptopurine (6-MP) are important immunosuppressants used for the therapy of various diseases.
