Intracranial chondromas are unusual benign tumors. They commonly occur at the base of the skull, whereas an intraventricular type is very rare. We present the case of a 19-year-old female patient with a giant intraventricular chondroma detected incidentally by imaging after a car accident. Periosteal chondroma is a slow growing benign tumor with prevalence rate of less than 2% of all chondromas. Primary chondroid tumors of the larynx represent less than 1% of all laryngeal tumors. Most of them are chondromas and they often involve to the cricoid cartilage. A 31-year-old male patient applied to the oto-laryngology service with a history of dysphonia and dyspnea. Chondromas are rare intracranial tumours. Sometimes they occur as a manifestation of a 'generalised chondromatosis'. The authors present a case of sellar chondroma in a patient with Ollier's disease. The tumour showed a mainly suprasellar extension resulting in a chiasmatic syndrome. The pathogenesis of intracranial chondromas, their clinical features, and CT- and MRI-findings are discussed.

Chondroma in the area of the spheno-ethmoidal junction is very rare. A 29-year-old male patient with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps was arranged for a preoperative computed tomography scan, and a lesion was accidentally found in his spheno-ethmoidal junction and involved the skull base. OBJECTIVES: Lumbar spinal chondromas (LSCs) are rare spine tumors. The characteristics of these intraspinal lesions are not well described in the literature. The goal of this article is to describe the features of this rare spinal tumor.

BACKGROUND: Intracranial chondromas are rare tumors arising from the skull base. They are usually accompanied by functional impairments of some cranial nerves. However, hypoglossal nerve dysfunction is rare.
CASE DESCRIPTION: We report on a 57-year-old woman presenting with chondroma of the right hypoglossal canal leading to right hypoglossal nerve palsy.
CONCLUSIONS: This report suggests that chondroma should be considered as a differential diagnosis in cases of hypoglossal lesions.

Periosteal chondromas located in the spine are rare. The authors document an even more infrequent occurrence of a recurrent periosteal chondroma in the cervical spine of a 6-year-old boy. During the operation, a giant (>7 cm in diameter) periosteal chondroma with involvement of the C-5 and C-6 vertebral bodies was resected. The vertebral column was reconstructed with anterior-posterior instrumentation. The pathological examination revealed that the tumor consisted of chondroid tissue with typical chondrocytes, confirming the diagnosis of periosteal chondroma.

The authors report a case of cervical chondroma presenting with a syndrome of spinal cord compression in a 76-year-old woman. Total surgical removal of the lesion was followed by partial neurological recovery. Chondromas of the vertebral column are rarely reported in the literature.
