Accumulating evidence shows that tigecycline, a first-in-class glycylcycline, has potential antitumour properties. Here, we found that tigecycline dramatically inhibited the proliferation of multiple myeloma (MM) cell lines RPMI-8226, NCI-H929 and U266 in a dose and time-dependent manner. Meanwhile, tigecycline also potently impaired the colony formation of these three cell lines. The role of topical antioxidants (AOs) on visible light plus ultraviolet A1 (VL+UVA1)-induced skin changes were evaluated. AIMS: Hairy cell leukaemia (HCL) is an indolent B-cell neoplasm that primarily involves the peripheral blood, bone marrow, and spleen. Rarely, patients with HCL present with a lymphoma-like clinicopathological picture mimicking other types of low-grade B-cell lymphoma. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is refractory to chemotherapies, necessitating novel effective agents. The lysosome inhibitor Bafilomycin A1 (BafA1) at high concentrations displays cytotoxicity in a variety of cancers. The chancroid bacterium Haemophilus ducreyi produces a toxin (HdCDT) which is a member of the recently discovered family of cytolethal distending toxins (CDTs).
