[Electrosurgery of cervical changes and its place in cervical cancer prophylaxis].

For many years electrosurgical procedures have been used to treat cervical changes. The equipment and the technique of performing these procedures have evolved considerably during the recent years. The Fisher cone and electrocoagulation of the cervix have been replaced with the LLETZ/LEEP procedure. Low cost, the simplicity of performance, high safety and high therapeutic effectiveness in treating precancerous cervical changes make the LLETZ/LEEP procedure a very good method of accomplishing the cervical cancer preventive program. The indications, contra-indications, the technique of performan

Comparison of electrosurgery and formocresol as pulpotomy techniques in dog primary teeth.

The primary teeth of four dogs were treated using either a conventional formocresol or electrosurgical technique following pulpotomy. Pulps of the treated teeth were evaluated histologically for the presence of inflammation, fibrosis, necrosis, resorption, and reparative dentin formation. Results indicated that conventional formocresol pulpotomy technique is histopathologically superior to electrosurgery pulpotomy technique.

[Treatment of giant vulvar condylomata acuminata combining CO2 laser and electrosurgery].

Since no antiviral treatment exists for human papilloma viruses (HPV), the clinician's role is to treat all detectable lesions in order to help the patient's immune system fight the virus and to prevent transmission by contact with lesions. HPV-associated lesions have been treated by a wide range of modalities, which may be divided into chemical, surgical and immunity-stimulating methods. We treated patients with large vulva lesions with Electrosurgery in combination with laser CO2 vaporization. HPV-associated lesions have been treated by a wide range of modalities, which may be divided into c…

Electrosurgery and Other Technical Advancements in Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgery - An Update.

Electrosurgery in gynecology has changed over the past few decades. The use of energy-based devices, especially in minimally invasive procedures, is extremely important for preparation, short reconvalescence and patient safety. Recently, there have been major advances in energy-based surgical devices that have further shortened OR time and increased patient safety. Although bipolar and monopolar electrosurgery is still very important, the introduction of high-frequency ultrasound in gynecologic surgery has improved cutting and coagulation by lowering thermal damage in the surrounding tissue. F…
