[SYSTEMIC REVIEW OF EOSINOPHILIC DERMATOSES PATIENTS TREATED WITH TNF-Α INHIBITORS AND USTEKINUMAB].

AIMS: This study aims to critically review the pros and cons of biological drugs as treatments and triggers of eosinophilic dermatoses. BACKGROUND: Eosinophilic dermatoses syndromes are rare diseases with a prominent eosinophilic infiltration mechanism. These syndromes have several known treatments with limited success. Several physicians worldwide suggested possible advantages of using specific biological drugs, which are different from eosinophil targeted biotherapies as treatments for eosinophilic dermatoses syndromes. Others considered these drugs as possible triggers. METHODS: Articles

[The red face].

Facial erythema may not only present clinically as a distinct entity, but can also be a symptom of other diseases. It is seen in common dermatoses such as eczema, psoriasis, acne and urticaria, as well as in rarer conditions such as disorders of keratinization, infectious diseases, porphyrias and neoplasia. Facial erythema may also present as a symptom of carcinoid syndrome, drug allergies, cardiac disease or in rare cases as a feature of Bloom's syndrome, sarcoidosis, lymphoma, amyloidosis and other disease processes. We would like to concentrate on the practical aspects of facial erythema as

[Inflammatory skin diseases and hypereosinophilia].

Among the dermatoses associated with tissue eosinophilia are pemphigus vegetans, bullous pemphigoid, granuloma facial and Wells' syndrome. Eosinophilic spongiosis can occur in the early stage of pemphigus. Pemphigus herpetiformis, a recently introduced term, does not represent a well defined entity but develops into either pemphigus vulgaris or pemphigus foliaceus. Granuloma facial is basically vasculitis. Eosinophilic cellulitis or Wells' syndrome shows numerous eosinophils which degranulate and through confluence of their granules form the so-called flame figures.

Dermoscopic patterns of common facial inflammatory skin diseases.

BACKGROUND: Several common inflammatory dermatoses, such as rosacea, seborrheic dermatitis (SD), discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE) and granulomatous skin diseases manifest as erythematous macules or plaques on the facial skin. Although clinical examination represents the cornerstone of diagnosis, the broad variety of clinical features and uncommon presentations of these diseases may cause at times diagnostic and therapeutic uncertainty. Dermoscopy, in addition to its well-documented value in evaluation of skin tumours, is continuously gaining appreciation also in the field of general dermatolo

Tinea incognito "mask"erading as allergic contact dermatitis due to COVID-19 facial covering in children.

We present three children with tinea incognito initially misdiagnosed as allergic contact dermatitis to face masks. All three patients presented with pruritic erythematous patches and plaques across the malar cheek and nose. This case series suggests that clinicians should keep a broad differential when evaluating mask-related facial dermatoses in children.

Erythromelalgia involving the face.

Erythromelalgia is a rare disorder characterized by burning pain, erythema, and increased temperature typically involving the distal extremities. Although it can progress to involve the face, erythromelalgia presenting only on the face is particularly rare. This disorder is often misdiagnosed when it presents on the extremities and is even more likely to be misdiagnosed when presenting only on the face, delaying appropriate treatment and causing considerable frustration for the patient. We report a case of a 26-year-old woman with erythromelalgia that involved only the face for a number of yea

[Non infectious skin conditions associated with diabetes mellitus: a prospective study of 308 cases].

INTRODUCTION: Non-infectious dermatoses during diabetes appear frequent if one refers to some of the studies in the literature that have attempted to assess its prevalence. PATIENTS AND METHODS: From November 2000 to November 2001, 308 randomly selected, hospitalized, diabetic patients were examined. The data were collected prospectively and systematically in a pre-established questionnaire. Statistical analysis included a descriptive and univariate analysis. RESULTS: 206/308 diabetics (67 p. 100) exhibited at least one non-infectious dermatitis, the most frequent of which was cutaneous xero

Annular and acral/facial dyskeratotic paraneoplastic disorders.

Annular and acral/facial dyskeratotic paraneoplastic disorders are inflammatory dermatoses that occur in association with distant cancers but are not precursors, extensions, or metastases of them. There are four classical entities under this rubric: two gyrate entities, erythema annulare centrifugum and erythema gyratum repens, and two acral/facial dyskeratotic entities, acrokeratosis paraneoplastic (Bazex syndrome) and tripe palms. Each of these entities may also occur in association with another etiopathogenesis and may present either as a classical entity or as a barely recognizable disease

The chameleon rash: a review of the polyphenotypic dermatoses of dermatomyositis.

Dermatomyositis (DM) is an autoimmune connective tissue disease that is included in the idiopathic inflammatory myopathies. Cutaneous manifestations are a prominent part of the condition: some skin signs in DM are common to most patients, while other signs are encountered infrequently. A number of features are pathognomic for DM. The demonstration of myositis-specific antibodies (MSAs) in DM has extended the ability to define phenotypic subgroups. It appears that the presence of certain MSAs confers susceptibility to specific clinical features, an association which reveals a serotype-phenotype

Eosinophilic dermatoses.

Eosinophilic dermatoses are a heterogeneous group of diseases, characterized by an eosinophil-rich infiltrate and/or degranulation of eosinophils. Blood eosinophilia may be an associated feature. Typical, albeit not specific histological findings include 'flame figures', which are caused by the accumulation of cationic proteins released by eosinophils and subsequent collagen denaturation. "Classic" eosinophilic dermatoses include eosinophilic cellulitis (Wells syndrome), granuloma faciale, eosinophilic fasciitis (Shulman syndrome) and eosinophilic folliculitis (Ofuji disease). In addition, the

Management of facial hyperpigmentation.

Facial and neck pigmentations are the most cosmetically important. They are common in middle-aged women, and are related to endogenous (hormones) and exogenous factors (such as use of cosmetics and perfumes, and exposure to sun radiation). Melasma (chloasma) is the most common cause of facial pigmentation, but there are many other forms such as Riehl's melanosis, poikiloderma of Civatte, erythrose peribuccale pigmentaire of Brocq, erythromelanosis follicularis of the face and neck, linea fusca, and cosmetic hyperpigmentations. Treatment of melasma and other facial pigmentations has always been
