OBJECTIVES: Frontal sinus anatomy is complex, and multiple variations of ethmoid pneumatization have been described that affect the frontal outflow tract. In addition, the lumen proper of the frontal sinus may exist as 2 separate parallel cavities that share an ipsilateral outflow tract. This variant has not been previously described and may have implications for surgical management.

Fibromyxomas are uncommonly encountered pathologies in the head and neck region. They are slow growing, which result in expansion of the surrounding bony cortices. In this article, we report an extremely rare case of frontal sinus fibromyxoma which occluded the frontal sinus and expanded anterior ethmoid cells and nasal dorsum. Initially, it was suspected to be a mucocele. Surgical resection with a wide excision was performed and it was diagnosed as fibromyxoma, histopathologically.

A 71-year-old lady underwent successful excision of a haemangioma of the frontal sinus, via an osteoplastic flap approach. Haemangioma of the paranasal sinuses is an extreme rarity. A case is presented and the literature reviewed.

Pneumosinus dilatans frontalis is a rare condition of the frontal sinus. Although the aetiologic mechanism is not yet known, it is presumed that an increased intrasinusal pressure due to a check valve mechanism is responsible for this condition. By measuring intrasinusal pressure we demonstrated this mechanism.

Fractures of the frontal sinus are frequently seen in patients with cranio-facial injuries. Trauma to the posterior wall and more deeply located tissues: anterior fossa, dura and brain, give an indication of the seriousness of such injuries.
