CONTEXT: Hair loss is a common complaint among Indian women. For female pattern hair loss (FPHL), diagnosis is primarily clinical. In the early stages, it can be confused with other conditions. Histopathology is the diagnostic method of choice but requires multiple biopsies and can be disfiguring. Trichoscopy is an alternative noninvasive, rapid tool.
AIM: The aim of this study is to study the hair density and hair diameter variance in relation with severity grading of FPHL.

BACKGROUND: Cocaine is a widespread drug of abuse to which children can also be exposed. The modes of exposure may vary depending on the age of the child. In addition to blood and urine analysis, hair analysis is currently used in some clinical contexts to investigate children's exposure to drugs of abuse, including cocaine. This systematic review aims to collect data on children's exposure to cocaine proven by hair analysis, and to understand whether the concentration of cocaine in the hair of children varies with age, potentially providing insights into the nature of their exposure.

BACKGROUND: The principal objective of this study was to investigate the clinical office-based phototrichogram (PT) findings of multiple scalp areas in South Korean women with hair loss.
METHODS: Two hundred and fifty-eight women with hair loss were classified into 155 female pattern hair loss (FPHL) and 103 telogen effluvium (TE) patients. Hair density and thickness were measured via computer software-assisted PT. Eleven scalp sites, including the three points of the front, top, and back of the head and the right and left sides of the head area, were targeted in this investigation.
