Introduction: Chagas disease (CD) is caused by a parasitic infection. The disease usually occurs after decades of the primary infection and can involve the myocardium or the digestive system. Of note, around 30% of T. cruzi infected patients develop CD while the other 70% may remain asymptomatic for their entire life. CD is usually observed as familial clustered phenomena. Three cases of Sjögren's syndrome-like illness occurring in patients with the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS)-related complex (ARC) are described. All three patients were male. Relapsing polychondritis is a rare disease probably of auto-immune etiology comprising inflammatory involvement of cartilage as well as phenomena of vasculitis. ENT manifestations are frequent and the authors present a case involving chondritis of the auricle, the nasal septum and affecting the cochleo-vestibular system as well. The diagnosis is based on the evocative clinical picture and on histological confirmation. Treatment consists of corticosteroids and immunosuppressive agents.
