Intrauterine devices (IUDs) are one of the most reliable and cheapest contraception methods. Our aims are to evaluate misplaced IUDs with radiological findings and to emphasise the importance of radiological imaging. We report two cases with radiological findings, one of complete migration to the abdomen without colonic perforation and one of partial migration to the bladder lumen with pregnancy. Uterine perforation and migration of IUDs are rare and undesirable complications. Suspected intra-abdominal IUDs can be evaluated with CT for precise localisation and possible complications without pr

Migration of an intrauterine device (IUD) is a complication occurring at or following insertion. After having perforated the uterine wall, the IUD usually will settle into the peritoneal cavity. Tubal migration of an IUD is extremely rare and little is known about its mechanism. We describe a case of pyosalpinx caused by the tubal migration of a copper IUD. The tail of the device was embedded in the mesocolon.

Spontaneous migration of the intrauterine devices into the bladder and secondary stone formation are rare complications. A 33-year-old women in whom a copper T intrauterine device had been placed two years previously, presented complaining of irritative lower urinary tract symptoms. Intravesical migration of intrauterine device and big stones around it were confirmed by radiography and cystoscopy. The stones were fragmented by using electrohydraulic lithotriptor. And then all fragments of the stones and IUD were cystoscopically removed by a grasping forceps without any complication.

Migration of an intrauterine contraceptive device (IUD) to the urinary bladder is very rare. We describe a case in which transabdominal sonography demonstrated such migration of an IUD in a 30-year-old woman who sought treatment for pelvic pain and dysuria. The IUD had originally been inserted 10 years earlier, and the patient had given birth without complications 2 years before the onset of her symptoms. Cytoscopic examination confirmed the diagnosis and allowed removal of the IUD.

Copper-containing intrauterine device (IUD) is a common method of contraception with a low failure rate and high acceptability. However, complications could follow its use including expulsion and migration of the device out of the uterus. When migration occurs, the device could pierce other structures in the pelvis such as the rectum, sigmoid colon, small bowel, or urinary bladder. The pattern of the patient's complaints will guide the clinician on the possible organ involved and the manner of care. This case report presents a 44-year-old woman with IUD migration into the urinary bladder with

BACKGROUND The intrauterine device (IUD) is a commonly used contraceptive method in emerging countries, such as Mexico and several Latin American nations. IUD insertion is a well-described and relatively simple procedure; however, one of its rare complications is migration to nearby extrauterine structures. CASE REPORT The patient was a 37-year-old woman with a history of cesarean delivery 5 years earlier. After an abortion managed by instrumental uterine curettage in 2024, a copper intrauterine device (IUD) was placed, with no immediate complications. However, 1 month later, she experienced i

A number of complications are reported with the use of intrauterine contraceptive devices. These may pursue asymptomatic course or present as an acute abdomen after migration into peritoneal cavity. The authors here are reporting an abdominal wall swelling caused by transuterine migration of a copper intrauterine contraceptive device in a 28-year-old female. An open approach was used, and impacted foreign body was retrieved.

Migration of an intrauterine device (IUD) to the posterior urethra with stone formation has not been previously reported in the literature. A 42-year-old female patient presented to the gynecology clinic with a complaint of "discovered vaginal mass for 2 years, with growth for 5 days." She was referred to urology on suspicion of IUD migration to the bladder. Physical examination revealed a hard mass palpable on the anterior vaginal wall. Laboratory tests showed normal blood counts, and urinalysis indicated a mild urinary tract infection. Ultrasound and pelvic X-ray indicated IUD migration to t

The intrauterine device (IUD) is currently one of the most widely used methods due to its great effectiveness. Uterine perforation and migration of the device is one of its most serious complications, although rare. In most patients, it usually occurs at the time of placement and goes unnoticed; however, it can also occur late. The diagnosis is established by imaging studies, preferring abdominal ultrasound, and its treatment should be removal in all cases. We present the case of a 27-year-old woman, with a history of levonorgestrel IUD placement two years earlier, who presented with chronic p

Intrauterine devices (IUDs) are a safe and common form of contraception. Uterine rupture and migration of the IUD is a rare complication of insertion but can be serious and cause damage to adjacent organs. We present a case report of a 43 year old woman with chronic abdominal pain who was diagnosed with an IUD in the wall of the sigmoid colon. That IUD had been inserted in the uterine cavity 22 years earlier.

Intrauterine device (IUD) is one of the most effective and standard contraception methods worldwide, including in Indonesia. A 54-year-old woman with frequent urination, pain in urination, and intermittency. History of using IUD 19 years ago. Urinalysis revealed there are pyuria and positive occult blood urine exam. Urinary sediment evaluation revealed some erythrocytes, leukocytes, and epithelial cells. Abdominal non-contrast CT scan revealed a stone with IUD. Stone and IUD were extracted via cystolithotomy. IUD complications may develop into bladder stone formation caused by IUD migration to

Intrauterine device represents the most reversible method of contraceptive worldwide. Its insertion is a medical procedure not free from complication. We report a rare case of intravesical migration of a copper intrauterine device inserted 18 months earlier in a 28-year-old multiparous woman. The patient presented with irritative lower urinary tract symptoms, and she was managed endoscopically. This case underscores the role of cystoscopy in irritative lower urinary tract symptoms post IUD insertion.

We report the case of a patient arrived because of urological symptoms characterized by terminal hematuria, strangury and dysuria due to migration into the bladder of an intrauterine contraceptive device (IUD) placed 14 years before and penetrated into the bladder with formation of lithiasis. These cases have already been described in literature, but the particular feature of this case is that the patient had been pregnant and had a eutocic delivery, she never voluntarily removed the IUD and nor was it found during a gynecologic laparoscopy. The patient underwent the surgical removal of the IU
