We performed penetrating keratoplasties in eight eyes with opaque corneas from healed corneal lacerations that extended into the corneoscleral limbus. We found dense fibrovascular membranes that extended from the laceration site over the surface of the iris into the angle in several cases and posteriorly to involve the ciliary body in all cases. In seven eyes moderate to severe increases of intraocular pressure occurred postoperatively. A 32-week-gestation female was delivered emergently via caesarian section to a mother in premature labor due to placental abruption. Injury to the anterior tibial tendon, extensor hallucis longus, extensor communis tendons, or dorsalis pedis artery, vein, and nerve are known as "boot-top" injuries. A series of five such cases illustrates that the size of laceration is often small and injury to the underlying structures can be missed. This injury should be preventable if equipment is worn properly.

We present a case of multiple lacerations occurring from an encounter with a bull shark in which violent contact was made with the animal's rough skin.
