Источник пометил публикацию как отозванную

OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study is to elucidate the causal association between asthma and alopecia areata (AA) through the application of Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis, leveraging summary data from genome-wide association studies (GWAS). Additionally, it explores potential mediating factors. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis was employed to investigate the causal relationship between asthma and AA using genetic instrumental variables (IVs) for asthma, 91 circulating inflammatory proteins, and AA extracted from large-scale GWAS. The primary analytical

Ambient particulate matter, maternal thyroid function, and birth weight: A mediation analysis.

BACKGROUND: Birth weight (BW) is an indicator of fetal growth and development. Previous studies showed inconsistent results on the associati … T4 and PM exposure (PM2.5: β = 0.004, 95 %CI: 0.001, 0.007; PM10: β = 0.003, 95 %CI: 0.000, 0.006). Mediation analysis found that FT4 levels mediated the relationship between maternal PM exposure and BW, ranging from 5.55 % to 15.86 %. CONCLUSIONS: Maternal PM exposure may induce a reduction in newborn BW by affecting the maternal TH concentrations.

Spiritual leadership influence on employee creative service performance: a moderated mediation analysis.

This paper expands the understanding of the relationship between spiritual leadership (SPL) and the creative service performance of employees. The research model, based on cognitive evaluation theory, examines the mediating role of employee autonomy and the moderating role of proactive personality in the relationship between SPL and employee creative service performance. Data was collected from 351 employees in China to test the moderated mediation model of this study. The empirical analysis reveals a positive association between SPL and employee autonomy, which in turn leads to increased empl

Varying Coefficient Mediation Model and Application to Analysis of Behavioral Economics Data.

This article is concerned with causal mediation analysis with varying indirect and direct effects. We propose a varying coefficient mediation model, which can also be viewed as an extension of moderation analysis on a causal diagram. We develop a new estimation procedure for the direct and indirect effects based on B-splines. Under mild conditions, rates of convergence and asymptotic distributions of the resulting estimates are established. We further propose a F-type test for the direct effect. We conduct simulation study to examine the finite sample performance of the proposed methodology, a…

Maternal obesity and severe pre-eclampsia among immigrant women: a mediation analysis.

We investigated the extent to which pre-pregnancy obesity mediates the association between maternal place of birth and severe pre-eclampsia in the PreCARE cohort of pregnant women in Paris (n = 9,579). Adjusted path analysis logistic regression models were used to assess the role of pre-pregnancy obesity as a mediator in the association between maternal place of birth and the development of severe pre-eclampsia. We calculated 1. adjusted odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals for the total exposure-outcome association and for the direct and indirect/obesity-mediated components 2. the indirec

Mediation analysis to understand genetic relationships between habitual coffee intake and gout.

BACKGROUND: Increased coffee intake is associated with reduced serum urate concentrations and lower risk of gout. Specific alleles of the GC … te adjusted p < 5 × 10-8 for both), but the urate-increasing MLXIPL and CYP1A2 alleles were not. In mediation analysis, the direct effects of GCKR and ABCG2 accounted for most of the total effect on gout risk, with much smaller indirect effects mediated by coffee consumption. CONCLUSION: Coffee consumption is inversely associated with risk of gout. Although alleles …

Aetiology, ejection fraction and mortality in chronic heart failure: a mediation analysis.

OBJECTIVE: Clinical decision making in chronic heart failure (CHF) is based primarily on left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), and only secondarily on aetiology of the underlying disease. Our aim was to investigate the mediating role of LVEF in the relationship between aetiology and mortality. METHODS: Using data of 2056 Austrian patients with CHF (mean age 57.2 years; mean follow-up 8.8 years), effects of aetiology on LVEF and overall mortality were estimated using multivariable-adjusted linear and Cox regression models. In causal mediation analyses, we decomposed the total effect of ae
