Six patients had hemorrhagic detachment of the peripheral retinal pigment epithelium. Abnormal neovascular nets in older individuals, under the retinal pigment epithelium and originating from the choriocapillaris, may well be the cause of such hemorrhagic detachments. This lesion must be differentiated from choroidal tumors, choroidal detachment, and uveal effusion.

Two hundred and eight alive newborns examined within 2 hours of birth showed 37.50% incidence of retinal hemorrhage (RH). Out of these, 38.59% were full term and 29.17% were preterm. Head circumference had a significant correlation (p less than 0.05) with retinal hemorrhage, while sex of the newborn, birth weight, gestational age and fetal distress showed no significant correlation. Birth injuries especially ocular and periocular injuries showed a significantly higher incidence of retinal hemorrhage (83.33%).

This report describes an unusual case of recurrent vitreous hemorrhage and atypical retinal neovascularization in a patient with tuberous sclerosis. During three years of observation, the patient also developed retinal telangiectasis with macular edema and lipid exudation. Although the patient did not have an obvious astrocytic hamartoma, a diffuse, flat retinal hamartoma within the nerve fiber layer was suspected.

In this work we study fundus reflection in the case of retinal detachment. Vitreous humor builds up beneath the retina through a break in the retina or when there is traction on the retina. Severe ocular complications in multiple sclerosis are rare. A 43-year-old patient had a history of diplopia episodes and optic neuritis in the right eye between 1979 and 1980. In 1984, multiple sclerosis had been diagnosed. The patient presented with visual deterioration in the right eye in 1992. Four patients had central retinal artery occlusions after retrobulbar anesthesia with lidocaine HCl was administered before photocoagulation. One of these four had two separate episodes of closure. Only one had permanent visual loss, and none had evidence of retrobulbar hemorrhage. Each patient had a severe hematologic or vascular disorder. We think that direct trauma to the central retinal artery behind the globe, the pharmacologic or compressive effects of the injected solution, or both caused the occlusions in these patients.
