Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are neoplastic diseases of the hematopoietic stem cells, caused by genetic mutations. The clinical courses of MDS are highly variable based on the underlying genetic aberrations, ranging from slowly progressing cytopenia to rapidly-manifesting fatal diseases, including the development of acute myelogenous leukemia. Rhinophyma is the most advanced stage of rosacea (stage IV). It is a benign lesion but aesthetically disabling. We present through a major case of rhinophyma and a review of the literature the diagnostic modalities, the therapeutic alternatives and the risks to be known. Particularly, we detail the risks of oncologic transformation of these poorly known lesions.The management of these rare lesions is based on a collaboration between the surgeon and the dermatologist.

Peripheral nerve block has many advantages in surgical anesthesia with or without general anesthesia; postoperative analgesia, faster postoperative rehabilitation, and chronic pain management. However, serious adverse complications after peripheral nerve block can happen. Therefore, anesthetists should obtain full informed consent for possible complications, and require scrupulous attention to this procedure. Sixty patients with previous stillbirths were given active antepartum, intrapartum and early postnatal care. A majority (75%) had a history of repeated stillbirths, and responsible pathology was detected in 55% of the cases. Philadelphia-negative myeloproliferative neoplasms are considered to be acquired thrombophilic states. Thromboses, both arterial and venous (not rarely in unusual sites), are often the initial events leading to the diagnosis. After diagnosis, the yearly incidence of thrombotic events is highly variable, and ranges from approximately 1% to 10%. The identification of patients at risk who may benefit from antithrombotic therapy remains a challenge, and it is currently based on age and history of thrombotic events. However, the predictive value of these clinical characteristics is rather limited.
