BACKGROUND: Anal metastases from lung cancer are infrequent, and there are only 10 published cases. Life expectancy is no longer than 1 year after diagnosis because of the typically advanced stage of disease. Treatment, which is typically inefficient, is administered with the intent to cure or avoid local complications.
CASE PRESENTATION: We report a case of a patient with non-small cell lung cancer presenting with perianal metastasis mimicking an abscess.
CONCLUSIONS: Because perianal masses may be misdiagnosed, patients with lung and other cancers should be evaluated for metastatic disease

A 69-year-old woman presented with a large pigmented perianal ulcer and inguinal lymphomas. The ulcer was fixed to the rectovaginal septum and the anal sphincter. Histological examination of a perianal skin biopsy revealed an anorectal melanoma. Prognosis is poor in these patients, median survival being less than 20 months.

OBJECTIVE: Perineal wound complications after abdominoperineal excision (APE) for anorectal cancer represent a considerable source of morbidity for patients. Strategies to improve wound healing include reconstruction with myocutaneous flaps. Seventy-five patients have been treated for condylomata acuminata by means of a new operative approach which results in the preservation of the maximum amount of normal tissue. The technique has proved to be simple to perform, it has minimal complications and causes the patient little in the way of discomfort. INTRODUCTION: This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of imiquimod in Anal High Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion (HSIL).
METHODS: Electronic databases (Pubmed, MEDLINE, EMBASE and Cochrane Library databases) were searched from inception until December 2024 for articles reporting imiquimod as a treatment for anal HSIL.
RESULTS: Five studies were identified (2 randomized controlled trials and 3 prospective non-randomized studies), containing data on 126 men of have sex with men living with HIV with anal HSIL. Most studies contained significant bias which prevented direct comparison.

Perianal Paget's disease (PPD) is a rare condition which is often associated with underlying malignancy. To definitively rule out malignancy, excision biopsy is required.
