The effect of t-butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP) on the oxidation of C1-radiolabeled glucose and C6-radiolabeled glucose by bovine ciliary body was investigated in the presence and absence of the glutathione reductase inhibitors nitrofurantoin (NF) and 1,3-bis(2-chloroethyl)-1-nitrosourea [BCNU]. 14CO2 production from 1-14C-glucose was markedly stimulated by TBHP and inhibited by BCNU. Report on the clinical and fluorescein-angiographic appearance of leiomyoma of the ciliary body in a 23-year-old woman, the surgical technique and histopathological findings. Here, we describe a rare case of drug-induced unilateral ciliary body effusion precipitated by topical brinzolamide, presenting acutely with pain, angle closure and myopic shift.Ciliary body effusion was suspected clinically and confirmed by ultrasound biomicroscopy. PURPOSE: To report a case of disseminated TB presenting as ciliary body and thyroid mass lesions.
CASE REPORT: A 17-year-old male patient presented with a thyroid mass and blurring of vision in the left eye. A diagnosis of ciliary body granuloma was made. Although the Mantoux was negative, the HRCT chest showed evidence of miliary TB, and the fine needle aspiration cytology from the thyroid mass revealed AFB.
