Transition-Metal Sulfide/Carbon Composites Derived from Recycled Sulfonated Resin as High-Photothermal-Conversion Materials for Solar-Driven Interfacial Evaporation.

The objective of this study is to investigate the recycling and utilization of Amberlyst 15 resin, which contains sulfonic acid groups, with the aim of transforming it into an excellent photothermal conversion material to enhance interfacial water evaporation capability. By pyrolyzing the resin and transition metal salt composite, composite materials of transition metal sulfides and carbon (Cu7S4-C, Ni3S2-C, and Co3S4-C) were successfully prepared, which combine the electron-phonon coupling effect and localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) effect. The prepared materials were characterized

Synthesis of urea-formaldehyde resin@chitosan composite for the removal of Congo red from an aqueous solution via adsorption: Box-Behnken design optimization.

The removal of the toxic dye Congo red (CR) from aqueous solutions is crucial for water purification and environmental protection. In this work, a urea-formaldehyde@chitosan (UF@Ch) composite was prepared using a simple process, and its adsorption performance for CR removal was evaluated. The structural and morphological properties of the composite material were determined by XRD, FTIR, and SEM-EDX analysis. Adsorption kinetics fitted well to the PSO model, while the Langmuir isotherm model fitted well with the equilibrium data, confirming monolayer adsorption with a maximum capacity of 34.95

Evaluating the Success of Preformed Resin Bonded Composite Strip Crowns for the Primary Central Incisor in Restoring Carious Primary Canine Teeth: A Retrospective Analysis.

Background Restoration of primary canine teeth in pediatric dentistry requires a balance of functional, biological, and esthetic factors. Stainless steel crowns, while effective for posterior restorations, often have patient acceptance issues due to esthetic limitations. Resin-bonded composite strip crowns have gained traction for anterior restorations due to their superior esthetic qualities and repairability. However, their long-term performance in primary canines characterized by unique morphological and functional demands has not been thoroughly evaluated. This study investigates the effic

Phenol-Furfural Resin/Montmorillonite Based High-Pressure Green Composite from Renewable Feedstock (Saccharum munja) with Improved Thermo-Mechanical Properties.

This research endeavour aimed to explore the potential of a native, nonedible and low market value plant feedstock, i.e., Saccharum munja for green synthesis of woodware materials and improve its features by incorporating an economical blending material. A significant amount of furfural, i.e., 58%, was extracted from Saccharum munja through the modified acid digestion method. Extracted furfural was reacted with phenol to prepare phenol-furfural resin, an alternative to phenol-formaldehyde resin but with no harmful effects for humans. The synthesized resin was also blended with montmorillonite

Periapical status of non-root-filled teeth with resin composite, amalgam, or full crown restorations: a cross-sectional study of a Swedish adult population.

INTRODUCTION: Experimental studies show that dental pulp cells respond unfavorably to contact with resin composite restorative material. Hypothetically, in a random population, the frequency of apical periodontitis should be higher for teeth restored with resin composite than with amalgam. Therefore, the aim was to compare the periapical status of non-root-filled teeth restored with resin composite, amalgam, or laboratory-fabricated crowns in an adult Swedish population. METHODS: The subjects comprised 440 individuals from a randomly selected sample of 1,000 adult residents of a Swedish count
