OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to evaluate the surgical outcomes of cone reconstruction (CR) in paediatric patients with Ebstein anomaly (EA).
METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed seventeen paediatric patients (<18 years) with EA (Carpentier types A, B, and C in 3, 12, and 2, respectively) who underwent CR without prosthetic annuloplasty materials between January 2014 and December 2024. BACKGROUND: The objective of this study is to assess the safety and early impact of intramyocardial delivery of autologous bone marrow-derived mononuclear cells (BM-MNC) at time of surgical Ebstein repair.
METHODS: Patients with Ebstein anomaly (ages 6 months to 30 years) scheduled to undergo repair of the tricuspid valve were eligible to participate in this open-label, non-randomized phase I clinical trial. BACKGROUND: Left ventricular global longitudinal strain (LVGLS) can detect early phases of LV systolic dysfunction, but its application has not been studied in Ebstein anomaly. A 21-year-old man presented with new-onset seizures and brain abscess. Echocardiography and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging revealed underlying Ebstein anomaly, secundum atrial septal defect, and cor triatriatum dexter. Ebstein anomaly of the tricuspid valve is an uncommon congenital heart defect. We report two unrelated patients with Ebstein anomaly and duplication of the distal long arm of chromosome 15 (15q22 --> qter and 15q24 --> qter). Duplication of 15q is a well-described phenotype that includes congenital heart defects, and these are the first cases with Ebstein anomaly. Duplication of 15q likely affects the early morphogenesis of cardiac structures, including the normal formation of the tricuspid valve.

The aim of this study was to assess cardiorespiratory tolerance to exercise in children with non-operated, paucisymptomatic and untreated froms of Ebstein's anomaly.
