Use of an oral effervescent agent in the evaluation of gastric 67Ga uptake.

OBJECTIVE: Gastric uptake of (67)Ga may be observed in patients with no obvious gastric lesions, as well as those with gastric malignancy. The aim of this study was to investigate whether the use of an effervescent agent aids in evaluating gastric (67)Ga uptake. METHODS: Twenty patients having or suspected of having gastric uptake on whole-body (67)Ga scintigrams were studied. Anterior abdominal images were obtained at baseline and after the oral intake of the effervescent agent (gas contrast image). The presence or absence of malignant gastric uptake was judged visually using the baseline im

The value of Tc-99m (V) dimercaptosuccinic acid in detecting intra-abdominal infection: compared with gallium scan.

OBJECTIVE: Gallium-67 (Ga-67) and labeled leukocytes are useful in the detection of an unknown infectious source. However, the delay in the diagnosis of a Ga-67 citrate scan (gallium scan) and the complicated labeling technique of a leukocyte scan are major drawbacks to their clinical use. Recently, Tc-99m (V) dimercaptosuccinic acid (DMSA) has been found to be very useful in the detection of infection. Tc-99m (V) DMSA is inexpensive, easy to prepare, and provides a result within hours. In this study, we evaluated the potential of Tc-99m (V) DMSA scan (DMSA scan) in the detection of intra-abdo

"Imaging Triplets on Two Wheels": 61Cu-, 64Cu-, and 68Ga-labeled Bicyclic Peptides Targeting Nectin-4 Enable High-Contrast PET Imaging of Urothelial Carcinoma and Triple-Negative Breast Cancer.

Nectin-4 is a validated target for theranostic approaches toward urothelial carcinoma, and radiolabeled ligands for PET and SPECT imaging are gaining increasing interest for noninvasive quantification of Nectin-4 prior to a targeted therapy. The goal of this study was to develop bicyclic peptides that allow radiolabeling with three different radionuclides (61Cu, 64Cu, and 68Ga) and to evaluate their suitability for high-contrast PET imaging in urothelial carcinoma (UC) and triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). For this purpose, NECT-330, NECT-334, and NECT-346 were designed based on our previo

90Y Radioactive Microsphere and its In Situ Labeling Strategy in Biological Systems for Real-Time Distribution Visualization after Embolization.

Molecular imaging is deeply involved in the 90Y selective internal radiotherapy (90Y-SIRT), exemplified as the pre-operation simulation imaging by 99mTc-MAA and postoperation imaging by 90Y bremsstrahlung SPECT or PET. However, the former was limited by the nature differences between MAA and therapeutic microspheres, and the latter was hampered by the inherent limitations of bremsstrahlung SPECT or the low positron yield of 90Y. We developed a new 90Y-microsphere and its imaging protocol. Streptavidin-decorated polystyrene microspheres (SPS) were synthesized as the embolic agent. A complementa

[Tumor imaging using 99mTc-hexamethylpropyleneamine oxime].

Tumor imagings have been performed in 32 tumor sites in 28 patients with a variety of malignancies by using 99mTc-HM-PAO. They have been compared with radionuclide angiography and conventional tumor imagings such as 67Ga citrate or 201TlCl scanning, and then their possible values have been evaluated for the investigation of tumor blood flow. Tumors were clearly visualized in 19 out of 32 sites, with 59% of positive rate. Good correlation was observed between the radioactivity in the tumor site on static image of 99mTc-HM-PAO and the radioactivity at arterial phase on radionuclide angiography,

Clinical impact of PSMA PET/CT on the management of biochemical recurrence in prostate cancer.

BACKGROUND: Ga-68 prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) improves lesion detection in patients with biochemical recurrence (BCR) of prostate cancer. However, real-world evidence linking imaging-driven management changes to early biochemical outcomes remains limited, particularly in Korean populations. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of Ga-68 PSMA PET/CT on clinical management and its association with early biochemical response. METHODS: This study included retrospectively registered 75 patients who underwent Ga-68 PSMA PET/C

Safety, Dosimetry, and Feasibility of [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-R2 as an Imaging Agent in Patients with Biochemical Recurrence or Metastatic Prostate Cancer.

Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) is highly expressed in most prostate cancers (PCs). PET and CT imaging studies using 68Ga-labeled PSMA ligands demonstrated the specific localization of 68Ga in PC lesions and distant metastatic lesions. [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-R2 (68Ga-PSMA-R2) is a PSMA-targeted PET/CT radiotracer with potential diagnostic applications. Methods: PROfind (NCT03490032) was a phase 1/2, open-label, multicenter study of administration of 3 MBq/kg of 68Ga-PSMA-R2 (from >150 to ≤250 MBq) in patients with biochemical recurrence (BCR) or metastatic PC (mPC). Translational and First-in-Human Positron Emission Tomography Targeting Prostatic Acid Phosphatase in Prostate Cancer Using the Ligand [68Ga]Ga-OncoACP3-DOTA.

Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-targeted theranostic agents have transformed prostate cancer (PC) management, but their performance is limited by variable PSMA expression and off-target uptake. We investigates the first-in-human positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of prostatic acid phosphatase (ACP3), a novel and highly specific PC target, using the radioligand [68Ga]Ga-OncoACP3-DOTA. We analyzed and matched [68Ga]Ga-OncoACP3-DOTA and [18F]PSMA-1007 PET scans in a cohort of 25 patients with PC. We compared the biodistribution and tumor uptake of the two tracers using the Wilco

68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT Versus Conventional Imaging for Response Evaluation in Metastatic Castration-resistant Prostate Cancer: A Single-center Prospective Study.

PURPOSE: Patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) often undergo multiple treatments, making accurate response assessment vital. The conventional imaging-based PCWG3 criteria, incorporating the RECIST-1.1, have been the gold standard so far. Although 68Ga-PSMA-11-PET/CT has shown an incremental role in staging of prostate cancer, its utility in response evaluation lacks prospective validation. Here, we prospectively evaluate different 68Ga-PSMA-11-PET/CT-based response evaluation criteria, including RECIP-1.0, PPP, and aPERCIST, and compare these with the PCWG3 crit
