Necropsy of 96 specimens of the San Diego alligator lizard (Gerrhonotus multicarinatus webbi) from Los Angeles County, California (USA) revealed the presence of two nematodes (Physaloptera sp. and Oswaldocruzia pipiens) and a cestode (Oochoristica sp.). Both O. pipiens and Oochoristica sp. represent new host records. Prevalence of helminth infection (all species) was only 4/96 (4%) indicating the lack of a helminth community and a depauperate helminth fauna in this host.

A survey was carried out to determine the prevalence of intestinal helminthiasis among students of Government Secondary School Girei, Song Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Nigeria, between January and July 1991. A retrospective evaluation of the status of soil-transmitted helminthic infection in Nepal during the period from 1985 to 1992 was conducted at the Parasitology Laboratory, Department of Pathology, TU Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu. The incidence of helminthozoonoses in the Slovak Socialist Republic over the years 1981--1987 was assessed on the basis of reports submitted by health and veterinary organizations. The incidence of taeniases exhibited a decreasing trend over the period studied. The occurrence rate of cysticercosis in slaughter cattle was irregularly increasing from 0.65% to 0.90%. Echinococcosis in humans was established only sporadically (4 cases). In animals its extensity was decreasing and dropped to 0.22% in slaughter pigs and to 0.70% in sheep and goats. A sample of 60 dogs in the Port Harcourt area of the Niger Delta was examined for intestinal parasites. The high prevalence rates of Toxocara canis (56.6%) and Echinococcus granulosus (85.0%) in the area are discussed in relation to public health. Other parasites found in dogs include Toxascaris leonina (3.3%), Uncinaria stenocephala (70.0%), Dipylidium caninum (88.3%), Trichuris vulpis (56.7%), Ancylostoma caninum (65.0%) and Taenia hydatigenia (43.3%).

A total of two hundreds and seventy squirrel monkeys (Saimiri sciureus) of both sexes were imported from South America through an animal dealer of the U. S. A. in eight lots from May, 1973 to July, 1974.
