The purpose of this presentation is to point out the importance of this new diagnosis and treatment method, recently incorporated. The studies were done with the Fibroscope F9-A with doble channel, equipped with an desection smear for polipectomies and an extracting forceps. The patients arrive with their intestine perfectly cleaned with classical methods. This detail is most important for the polipectomies. This report describes an extremely unusual cause of acute pancreatitis. It highlights the value of cross-sectional imaging, in the absence of alcohol and gallstone aetiology, to establish a diagnosis and direct management. Computed tomography (CT) revealed a duodenal jejunal intussusception. A benign inflammatory fibroid tumour, acting as a lead point, was surgically resected and the patient made an unremarkable recovery without further episodes of acute pancreatitis.

Small bowel intussusception complicated simultaneously by volvulus in an older child is rare but clinically significant, necessitating urgent operative management. We report a local case of jejuno-jejunal intussusception complicated by volvulus and bowel infarction in a 9-year-old Chinese girl, with diagnosis made on preoperative computed tomography and confirmed at laparotomy. An intestinal polyp as the lead point for intussusception was identified operatively.

Inflammatory pseudotumor (inflammatory fibroid polyp) of the ileum is a rare, usually solitary and polypoid lesion that frequently presents clinically as small-intestinal intussusception and obstruction. Two cases of primary small bowel tumors causing an acute intussusception are presented. In one case two polyps were found and in the other case a lipoma in the wall of the jejunum. In both cases there were symptoms of recurrent bowel obstruction for several months before the acute condition. Although intussusception caused by a benign tumor of the small bowel is a rare condition it should be taken into consideration in the differential diagnosis of abdominal pain of doubtful origin.

Peutz-Jeghers syndrome (PJS) is a rare, autosomal dominant inherited disease. It is clinically characterized by the development of gastrointestinal hamartomas, mainly located in the small bowel. These hamartomas are prone to complications such as intussusceptions, abdominal complaints and anaemia. Furthermore, patients are at increased risk for developing small bowel cancer. The role of colonoscopic polypectomy for schistosomal polyps was studied. The results showed that, in spite of the large number of polyps, a total of 404 polyps were removed from 20 patients. The procedure is feasible with minimal complications. A marked reduction of rectal bleeding occurred in half the patients, and the remaining half had minimal symptoms. Colonoscopic polypectomy gives equal results to colonic excision for schistosomal polyps.
