Pigment dispersion (PD) and plateau iris configuration (PIC) are ocular conditions associated with increased intraocular pressure (IOP) and the development of glaucoma. Primary uveal melanoma is rare and affects approximately 8,000 persons per year worldwide. This malignancy can involve the iris, ciliary body, and choroid. A 2-year-old girl with severe muscular dystrophy presented with unilateral eye pain and corneal clouding. She was found to have absent red reflex, hypotonia, cerebral hypoplasia, and iris bombe on ultrasound biomicroscopy, a feature not previously reported in this syndrome. PURPOSE: To describe a case of bilateral acute iris transillumination (BAIT)-like syndrome following intracameral moxifloxacin injection after cataract surgery.
METHODS: A case report.
RESULTS: We report a case of unilateral acute iris transillumination and distorted pupil in a 53-year-old male who underwent uneventful cataract extraction with intracameral moxifloxacin.
CONCLUSION: BAIT-like syndrome may be a rare side effect of intracameral moxifloxacin.
