BACKGROUND: An antibiogram is a summary of antibiotic susceptibility patterns for selected bacterial pathogens and antibiotics. The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services' Division of Public Health Services (DPHS) sought to create an annual state antibiogram to monitor statewide antibiotic resistance trends, guide appropriate empiric antibiotic prescribing, and inform future statewide antibiotic stewardship.

The duration of eXDR carriage depends on several factors that might be difficult to recover. PURPOSE: Anorexia nervosa (AN) is a complex medical condition affecting mainly adolescents and young adults. To monitor and prevent refeeding syndrome, current guidelines recommend daily laboratory testing in the first week of hospitalization and 2-3 times/week for the following 3 weeks. A study was undertaken to determine the role of typhoid in febrile illness. It was found that in 1992, Salmonella typhi, the causative agent of typhoid, played a 2.3% role in 25404 diagnostic specimens sent to Mulago Hospital, Kampala, the largest hospital in Uganda. BACKGROUND: The diffusion of cardiac catheterization laboratories in Italy has been increasing in the last decade, often without a rational planning process evaluating costs, safety, concentration and case loads.
METHODS: Data have been provided by the 1990 annual report of the Italian Group of Hemodynamic Studies and Interventional Cardiology which includes, following the best estimates, about 90% of public and private labs. These data include all cardiac catheterization visits. In analysis, PTCA's have been separately considered.

We describe the fabrication of customized cuirasses for patients with severe thoracic asymmetry who need assisted ventilation. The materials and methods for this technique are available in most hospital-based or commercial orthotics laboratories. The degree of innovation required for fabrication should be within the capabilities of most certified orthotists. This specialized application is highly effective in selected patients, as reported by us and other investigators.
