Lichen is a chronic, mucocutan disease with unknown origin. Oral lesions are usually bilateral, the most frequent location of the reticular form is the posterior part of the buccal mucosa. It undergo only rarely spontaneous remission, and it has a potential to turn into malignant tumor. Lichen planus is a chronic, inflammatory, autoimmune disease that affects the skin, oral mucosa, genital mucosa, scalp, and nails. Linear lichen planopilaris of the face is a rare variant of lichen plano- pilaris. Asymptomatic follicular papules in a linear configuration are the characteristic clinical features. The incidence is still unknown, but there are a few cases reported exclusively in male adults. We present the case of a fourteen-year-old girl with linear lichen planopilaris of the face. Improvement was obtained with the use of tacrolimus 0.03 percent ointment.

OBJECTIVE: To report a case of lichen planopilaris in a patient treated with infliximab for longstanding refractory psoriasis.
CASE SUMMARY: A 37-year-old man with recalcitrant plaque psoriasis was being treated with infliximab at a dosage of 5 mg/kg every 8 weeks, with good response. However, 11 months later the patient developed follicular keratotic papulo-pustules, perifollicular erythema, and scaling, with progressive hair loss of the frontal and parietal regions of the scalp and eyebrows. A skin biopsy from a representative lesion was consistent with the diagnosis of lichen planopilaris.

BACKGROUND: Elastophagocytosis, or elastic fiber phagocytosis by multinucleate macrophages, has been observed in different skin conditions that may or may not occur on sun-exposed skin. Oral lichen planus which is one of the most common oral mucosal diseases in adults, it has been rarely described in children. There are very reports in the literature regarding oral lichen planus in children, here we report a case of intraoral lesions of lichen planus. Lichen planus should be considered in the differential diagnosis of hyperkeratotic or erosive lesions of the oral mucosa in children.

Lichen sclerosus (LS) in children is uncommon; however, it is an important differential diagnosis in any pre-pubertal child presenting with chronic vulval symptoms. The long-term prognosis is unknown; however, recent data suggests that the assumption that the condition will resolve at puberty may be incorrect. Children with LS require long-term management with topical corticosteroids, which remains the treatment of choice, as well as long-term follow up. We review the current literature on paediatric vulval LS.

BACKGROUND: Many case studies of lichen sclerosus (LS) have reported an association of vitiligo. However, such an association is not reported from larger case studies of vitiligo, which happens to be a common disease.
