OBJECTIVES: Despite the versatility of flap designs for lower lip reconstruction, the notion of orbicularis oris (OO) ring integrity was barely stressed. Traditional flap transfer leads to fibrous orientation inconsistency with the remaining OO. INTRODUCTION: Patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) are at an increased risk of secondary skin neoplasms. However, detailed clinicopathological and therapeutic descriptions are limited.
METHODS: We conducted a prospective, observational, single-center study including HSCT recipients. Patients with actinic keratosis or skin/mucosal malignancies were evaluated by expert dermatologists, with a histological review. Lip cancer is the most common malignant lesion of the oral cavity. Most of the tumors have been presented in the lower lip as a SCC, whereas the upper lip SCC is rare. Surgical excision with negative margins is the mainstay of treatment for lip SCC. The author presents a patient with the upper lip SCC treated by wedge surgical excision. Primary reconstruction of the large upper lip defects can be successfully used in appropriately selected patients.

INTRODUCTION: Macrocheilia is a rare presentation for acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL).
CASE REPORT: A 18 year-old man was referred to our department for an acute swollen lower lip, multiple swollen cervical lymph nodes and spontaneous gum bleeding. The diagnosis of APL was made and the treatment was rapidly started in an intensive care unit.
DISCUSSION: APL is often found because of stomatologic symptoms but macrocheilia is rarely reported. APL is a vital emergency.

Outcomes, signalments, and the relationship of histologic features with the outcome of melanomas located in lip, nail bed, and haired skin of dogs were reviewed.
