OBJECTIVE: To investigate the expression and prognosis significance of receptor interacting protein 2 (RIP2) in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).
METHODS: The expression of RIP2 in DLBCL GCB and non-GCB type was detected by immunohistochemistry, at same time the expressions of BCL-2 and C-MYC were detected. Then, the role of RIP2 in development of DLBCL was analyzed by related clinical and pathological parameters.
RESULTS: The expression of RIP2 was related with middle-high risk group by IPI score, the An Arbor stage III+IV and intranodal lesions, and the differences were statistically

Primary cutaneous diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is an uncommon and aggressive lymphoproliferative disorder with a rapid growth rate and dismal prognosis. We present the case of a 91-year-old female with an unusual manifestation of primary cutaneous diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, mimicking other more prevalent diseases like chronic non-healing venous ulceration. Dermatopathologic evaluation rendered the correct diagnosis. A discussion of this rare presentation is important for clinician consideration to prevent misdiagnosis and prolongation of proper management in patients with chronic non-heal

Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is a subtype of non-Hodgkin lymphoma occurring in various sites, but rarely involving the ureters. Primary DLBCL is a rare entity. Imaging studies in a 82-year-old male patient revealed left hydronephrosis and an area of nodular soft tissue density in the upper ureteral wall. On enhanced computed tomography scans, the lesion exhibited early enhancement. As the lesion was considered to be malignant, a left nephroureterectomy was performed for the purpose of pathological diagnosis. Histological analysis and immunohistochemistry revealed DLBCL. Since the surg

During treatment for malignant lymphoma, cytopenia can develop for several reasons. In the treatment of cytopenia, various possibilities should be considered because inadequate treatment causes exacerbation of cytopenia and can lead to fatal conditions, such as infection and bleeding. Herein, we describe immune pancytopenia 3 months after the last exposure to chemotherapy in a patient with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). She suffered from severe pancytopenia after two courses of rituximab and bendamustine therapy for a second relapse of DLBCL. Immune pancytopenia was diagnosed with bone

The involvement of the gallbladder in systemic lymphoma is extremely rare. We report a challenging case of systemic diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) that initially presented with septic shock from acalculous cholecystitis. After extensive investigation, DLBCL was found to be the underlying cause of gallbladder disease.

A 66-year-old male with dyspepsia and weight loss was referred to our hospital for evaluation. On laboratory examination, anti-saccharomyces cerevisiae (ASCA)-IgA was positive and iron deficiency anemia was present. PET/CT and abdominal CT scan images showed multiple small bowel segmental wall thickening and inflammation. Capsule endoscopy images showed multiple small bowel ulcerative lesions with exudates. Based on laboratory test results and imaging studies, the patient was diagnosed with Crohn's disease and treated with prednisolone and 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA). However, the patient un

Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most common non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and is regarded as a heterogeneous group of lymphomas in terms of morphologic, immunologic, and cytogenetic features. The current standard therapy for DLBCL is R-CHOP (rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone) therapy, which allows many patients to achieve disease cure. Despite recent progress in improving patient survival, 40% of DLBCL outcomes are still unsatisfactory. Gene expression profiling has been used to identify two distinct forms of DLBCL: the activated B-cell (ABC) subtype an

BACKGROUND: Primary diffuse large B-cell lymphoma of the cervix is a very rare disease, with non-specific clinical presentation. Its prognosis depends on accurate and timely diagnosis and therapy. Moreover, the management of this tumour has never been standardized.
CASE REPORT: Herein we present a rare case of primary diffuse large B-cell lymphoma of the cervix misdiagnosed as cervical myoma. Our systematic review of the English literature identified 143 cases of primary diffuse large B-cell lymphoma of the uterus. Patients' characteristics and oncological, surgical, and safety data were reco

The role of the microenvironment in high-grade lymphoma is not well defined. In this report, we employ immunohistochemistry to characterise programmed death-1 (PD-1/CD279) and FoxP3 expression in 70 cases of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). PD-1 is a surface marker characteristic of follicular helper T-cells whilst FoxP3 is characteristic of Tregs. We demonstrate variable infiltration with CD4(+) T-cells (<10 to >50 % of all lymph node cells) and PD-1(hi) cells (0.1 to 1.5 % of all cells). CD4(+) T-cells can be distributed in clusters or more diffusely and PD-1(hi) cells, but not FoxP3(+

IntroductionIn diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, first-line treatment with rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine and prednisone; salvage with cisplatin-based regimens for relapsing patients; and autologous stem cell therapy are standards of care. Treatment approaches are less clear for patients who are refractory or who are not candidates for autologous stem cell therapy. Options may include palliative regimens or clinical trial enrollment. One therapy under investigation in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is lenalidomide, an immunomodulatory agent with antiangiogenic activity.Case

This report concerns a 62-year-old man with primary cutaneous diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (PCLBCL), leg type that developed during methotrexate (MTX) treatment for rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Several tumors were observed on the left lower leg. A histological analysis showed diffuse proliferation of large neoplastic B-cells that were immunophenotypically CD10-/MUM1+/BCL6-/BCL2+ and cytogenetically had IgH/c-MYC translocation without translocation involving BCL6 or IgH/BCL2. No evidence of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection was found. The discontinuation of MTX resulted in a 20-month disease-fr

CD56 positive B-cell lymphoma is very rare. We experienced a case of CD56 positive diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, occurred in a young child. A 5-year-old girl complained with snoring and open mouth breathing. No any abnormality in laboratory or physical examination was present, except enlarged both tonsils. Bilateral tonsillectomy was performed. Cut sections of right tonsil showed a 2 cm size, solid mass. On microscopically, large monomorphic lymphoid cells were diffusely proliferated and showed positivity for CD20 and CD56 and negative for Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) polymerase chain reaction (P

In June 2008, a 74-year-old male was diagnosed with IgG4-related disease including histologically proven IgG4-related prostatitis, and then followed as an outpatient. In July 2011, cervical, chest, and abdominal computed tomography (CT) revealed right parotid gland swelling and lymph node enlargement of the supraclavicular, mediastinal, left hilar, porta hepatis, and para-aorta. A biopsy of the right parotid gland was performed, and we diagnosed diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). As malignancies are possible complications for patients with IgG4-related disease, we must be careful in the fo

Herpes zoster, also known as shingles, occurs upon reactivation of a primary infection with varicella zoster virus (VZV). Risk factors for reactivation include stress, older age, and immunosuppression, all of which are associated with a decrease in host immunity. Common complications of herpes zoster include scarring and post-herpetic neuralgia (PHN). Cutaneous lesions such as granuloma annulare, lymphomas, and sarcoid granulomas have also been reported to potentially arise at the site of herpes zoster. Here, we report a case that to our knowledge is the first presentation of diffuse large B-c
