IMPORTANCE: Given that older adults are at high risk for adverse drug events (ADEs), many geriatric medication programs have aimed to optimize safe ordering, prescribing, and deprescribing practices.
OBJECTIVE: To identify emergency department (ED)-based geriatric medication programs that are associated with reductions in potentially inappropriate medications (PIMs) and ADEs.
DATA SOURCES: A systematic search of Scopus, Embase, PubMed, PsycInfo, ProQuest Central, CINAHL, AgeLine, and Cochrane Library was conducted on February 14, 2024, with no date limits applied.

Current health policy reform efforts in Germany include introduction of a DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) based funding system in the hospital sector as well as integrated delivery of health care and disease management programs, developments that will directly affect the medical rehabilitation sector. Decreasing lengths of hospital stay induced by the DRG system will inter alia entail a shifting of cases and costs to subsequent sectors. The health insurance system in Japan is compared to the U.S. system from a neurosurgeon's perspective. The Japanese entire population is enrolled in mandatory health insurance without choice based on employment and residence, called "Health-insurance-for-all." Elderly Health Insurance for senior people aged 70 years or older is set within each health organization. As the relative financial conditions are variable among health insurance organizations, financial adjustment is done. Death by suicide is a significant cause of mortality among youth. However, there is limited information on the demographic and clinical factors associated with youth suicide deaths.
