Gall bladder carcinoid tumours are rare and usually lack specific symptoms. In most instances, they are incidentally detected after a cholecystectomy and rarely do they manifest with carcinoid syndrome. We report a case of gall bladder carcinoid in a patient who had undergone surgery for rectal carcinoid 10 years back. Occurrence of rectal carcinoid and gall bladder carcinoid in the same patient has not been reported before.

A case of bilateral renal angiomyolipoma coexistent with pulmonary lymphangioleiomyomatosis and tuberous sclerosis was described, being in shock with massive hematuria. The left giant angiomyolipoma, filling the almost entire abdomen, was complicated with two large hump and moniliform aneurysms. This life-threatening hemorrhage was successfully treated by transcatheter arterial embolization; packing mechanically detachable coils into the aneurysms and embolization of trunk of the left renal artery. A 42 year-woman suffering from a non-small cell lung cancer, presenting initially as a mediastinal tumor, is hospitalized for fever, headaches and nausea. An aseptic meningitis is diagnosed. The patient died despite the administration of broad spectrum antibiotics and antituberculous agents. The differential diagnoses are presented.

Benign dermoid cysts of the caecum are rare. We present a case of benign dermoid cyst of the caecum and discuss the various explanations of pathogenesis. Various possible explanations exist, including embryological sequestration, implantation following surgery, squamous metaplasia of enterogenous cysts and teratoma. In this case there was also a finding of intratubular germ cell neoplasia of one testis, detected on follow-up studies on the patient. The significance of this is discussed.

Leiomyomas of the esophagus and/or the bronchus have rarely been reported in children. To our knowledge, the simultaneous presence of this tumor in both the esophagus and a bronchus in a child has not been previously reported. A 7-year old boy presented with respiratory and esophageal symptoms and was found to have a leiomyoma of the esophagus and right main bronchus. The esophageal leiomyoma was treated with limited myotomy, but bronchoscopic resection was possible for the bronchial lesion. A 68-year-old woman developed three reddish nodules on a linear epidermal nevus on the right arm. The nodules and linear lesion were resected. The histology revealed the two larger nodules to be eccrine porocarcinoma and the other to be eccrine poroepithelioma. The linear lesion was actually epidermal nevus. To our knowledge, this is the first description of adnexal tumors developing on epidermal nevus.

The diagnosis of leptomeningeal gliomatosis is discussed in relation to a single case studied in detail. Histology showed extensive subarachnoid spread of tumour that seemed to originate in an astrocytoma of the ventricular wall. The spinal fluid was xanthochromic with a high protein content. Reports of primary leptomeningeal gliomatosis are reviewed and the need for detailed histological study of the brain in such cases is emphasised.

A case of bilateral uveal melanoma in a 54-year-old man is described. On admission of the patient for a choroidal melanoma of the left eye, an asymptomatic ciliary-body tumour was detected in his right eye. A thorough general examination did not reveal any metastases. The left eye was enucleated and local excision of the tumour in the right eye was performed 2 months later. Histology confirmed the presence of malignant melanomas in both eyes. A 49-year-old female complaining of dyspnea at exercise was admitted. Bronchoscopic examination revealed that the left main bronchus was almost obstructed by a tumor. A sleeve resection of the left main bronchus was performed. Histological examination confirmed that the tumor was squamous papilloma. After one year and eight months, bronchofiber examination disclosed papilloma in the trachea. Therefore, papilloma was treated with endoscopic methods, including Nd-YAG laser. The patient has survived for 11 years since first treatment.

We report on a 22-year-old man with congenital hypogammaglobulinemia who developed multiple colorectal neoplasms. An immunodeficiency had been diagnosed in the patient since two years of age, and this time many tumors of the sigmoid colon and rectum were detected by barium enema and fiberscopy. Abdominoperineal resection was performed, and the resected specimen revealed 29 polyps, including 9 adenocarcinomas and 20 adenomas.
