Paraneoplastic pityriasis rubra pilaris: a systematic review.

BACKGROUND: Paraneoplastic pityriasis rubra pilaris (PRP) is a rare and poorly defined chronic inflammatory skin condition. Recognition of its potential association with cancer is crucial to facilitate timely diagnosis and treatment. OBJECTIVES: To summarize published literature on paraneoplastic PRP, with a focus on associated cancer types, latency periods, treatment outcomes and resolution following oncological management. METHODS: A literature review was conducted following PRISMA guidelines using the MEDLINE, Embase, Cochrane Library and Web of Science databases. Search terms used were '…

Refractory pityriasis rubra pilaris treated with abrocitinib.

Pityriasis Rosea Induced by COVID-19 Vaccination.

UNLABELLED: It is increasingly recognized that SARS-CoV-2 infection and COVID-19 vaccines have been associated with skin disorders, including pityriasis rosea. It has been reported that pityriasis rosea has been triggered by several vaccines, as a rare side-effect. We present two cases of COVID-19 vaccine-induced pityriasis rosea. Skin lesions appeared in a 49-year-old female 8 days after the first dose of the BNT162b2 mRNA vaccine and in a 53-year-old male 7 days after the second dose of the same vaccine. The exanthem was self-limited in both patients over a period of a month. LEARNING POINT…

Domperidone-induced pityriasis rosea-like drug eruption.

Pityriasis rosea is a common, acute, self limiting inflammatory skin disease. Pityriasis rosea-like eruptions (PR-LE) have been reported after drugs. The clinical presentation of PR-LE can be distinguished from pityriasis rosea. We reporte a 41-year-old woman who developed PR-LE 5 days after administration domperidone.

Childhood Pityriasis Rosea With Multiple Herald Patches.

Pityriasis rosea is a common skin condition that mainly affects people in their mid to late 20s. The disease commonly begins with the presentation of a herald patch, followed by the spreading of smaller lesions. The authors of this case look at a school-age male child with pityriasis rosea that originated on his back and spread to his chest, legs, arms, and buttocks. The age of this child falls below the expected range of pityriasis rosea patients. On his back, there are multiple herald patches at which the rash originated, which is significantly less common than a single herald patch.
