Tuberculosis is uncommonly located in the skin, corresponding to 1 to 2% of extrapulmonary forms. We report a 61-year-old woman, referred due to a two months history of erythematous plaques covered with honey-colored crusts in the left preauricular region and below the chin. The lesions were previously treated as pyoderma with poor response. She was otherwise healthy, without any other symptom. Skin biopsy showed exudative tuberculoid granulomas with caseation necrosis. Tuberculosis can cause genital ulcers, although this clinical manifestation was more frequent at the beginning of the 20th century as it was related to the rite of circumcision. We report the case of a patient with this disease, presumably acquired through sexual intercourse.

Choroidal tuberculosis (TB) infection may present itself as a diffuse choroiditis that resembles serpiginous choroiditis, usually treated with immunossupressants. Recent studies have demonstrated that patients with serpiginous-like choroiditis and evidence of systemic or latent TB are best treated with antituberculosis treatment (ATT) in addition to the corticosteroid therapy. Tuberculosis, and non-tuberculous mycobacterial infections are becoming more common thus it is more likely that otolaryngologists will encounter these conditions. We describe an otherwise well patient, with symptoms and signs from chronic uvular inflammation, who proved to have a primary mycobacterial infection. This is an unique presentation in the literature and reminds clinicians of the need, where uncertainty exists in diagnosis, to consider mycobacterial infections.

We describe a patient with two tuberculides, erythema induratum and papulonecrotic tuberculide. At presentation these were the only manifestations of tuberculosis and they responded dramatically to antituberculous therapy. With the rise in incidence of tuberculosis in Western countries these and other presentations of tuberculosis will be seen with increasing frequency and may provide the only clue to the underlying diagnosis.

A patient with tuberculous meningitis is described, who developed brainstem tuberculoma after 7 months of adequate drug therapy and while improving satisfactorily. The possible factors resulting in the development of tuberculoma are discussed. The tuberculoma responded to the medical therapy. Tuberculoma should be looked for if the condition of the patient worsens or if the patient develops new neurological signs during the course of TB meningitis.
