Sarcoidosis is a systemic non-caseating granulomatous disease of unknown aetiology. Cutaneous manifestations are present in approximately 10-30% of the patients with the systemic form. Narrow-band UVB (NB-UVB) is light over a very narrow band of wavelengths (around 311 nm) that is concentrated in the therapeutic range and minimally in the sunburn range. A 38-year-old woman presented with recurrent episodes of urticaria after contact with water affecting the upper part of the body. We confirmed the diagnosis of aquagenic urticaria. Aquagenic urticaria is a rare form of contact urticaria with small wheals generally affecting the upper part of the body. It has to be distinguished from aquagenic pruritus. The pathogenetic mechanisms are not known in detail. Treatment with antihistamines, ultraviolet therapy or application of protective hydrophobic barrier creams could be effective.

In a random study of 116 patients with psoriasis vulgaris, oral psoralen photochemotherapy (PUVA) used alone was compared to PUVA plus adjunctive topical therapy with tar, dithranol, or topical corticosteroids. PUVA plus topical corticosteroids produced more rapid clearing of psoriasis but despite maintenance therapy, the frequency of recurrences of the disease during the early phase of follow-up was significantly higher with that treatment, as compared to all other treatments.
