A panel of 45 Brucella ovis serologically positive sera were tested in immunoblots against B. ovis outer membrane proteins Omp31 and Omp25, purified by preparative SDS-gel electrophoresis. Iron (Fe2+), manganese (Mn2+), and ammonium (NH4+) are the three most common contaminants in anaerobic groundwater and are typically removed in rapid sand filters in a series of simultaneous, uncontrolled, and interconnected redox reactions. PURPOSE: A leukocyte filter has been empirically incorporated within ex vivo lung perfusion circuits since the advent of ex vivo lung perfusion. However, the utility of the leukocyte filter has never been fully defined, and studies have questioned the beneficial effects of the filter. Additionally, there have been suggestions that such filters may become quickly saturated in use requiring replacement for better effect. Thus, we sought to determine the effects of leukocyte filters on ex vivo lung perfusion and evaluated whether a conventional arterial filter would prove to be noninferior.

In this study, zeolite and volcanic rock were used as packings of anaerobic filter (AF) to set up leach bed reactor (LBR)-AF two-phase anaerobic system for treating high-solid food waste residue. Results indicated that NH4+-N in the AF with mixed packings was reduced by 86 %, significantly alleviating ammonia inhibition. Methane production of mixed packings group reached 336.39 mL/g VSadd.
