Nodal melanocytic nevi are benign proliferations found in lymph nodes. While they are typically localized, small proliferations within the lymph node capsule, occasionally they can show florid growth patterns, raising concern for metastatic melanoma. We report four unusual cases of exuberant nodal nevi with discussion of the morphologic and immunophenotypic features. In all four cases, the differential diagnosis included metastatic melanoma. We report these cases to highlight an important diagnostic pitfall that may occur when nodal nevomelanocytic proliferations show exuberant growth patterns

Neurofibromatosis type 1 is an autosomal dominant multisystemic disease caused by mutation of the neurofibromin (NF1) gene located on chromosome 17q11. We report a case of Neurofibromatosis 1 with ambiguous genitalia, giant congenital melanocytic nevus, and associated subpulmonic outlet ventricular septal defect, hitherto unreported in sub-Saharan Africa. In addition, a literature review of congenital heart diseases associated with Neurofibromatosis 1 is presented.

BACKGROUND: Compared with traditional screening questionnaires, computerised adaptive tests for severity of depression (CAT-DI) and computerised adaptive diagnostic modules for depression (CAD-MDD) show improved precision in screening for major depressive disorder. CAT measures have been tailored to perinatal women but have not been studied in low-income women of colour despite high rates of perinatal depression (PND).
