Red Malus 'Royalty' fruits are rich in anthocyanins. This study aimed to obtain the optimal parameters for the extraction and separation of anthocyanins from Malus 'Royalty' fruits and to evaluate the inhibitory effect of the enriched anthocyanin fraction on gastric cancer cells. This study investigates the existence of the pseudo complex fractionated atrial electrogram (CFAE) at cellular level. Our assumptions are based on the fact that CFAEs are linked to the generation of the spiral waves. These are created using a numerical model and an experimental model of in vitro culture of neonatal rats cardiac cells. Pseudo bipolar electrograms resulting from these two models are compared qualitatively and some patterns could be identified as CFAE signature.

A 60-year-old male, presented with insidious onset, gradually progressive, burning paresthesia over the saddle area, sphincteric disturbance, impotence and paraparesis. Investigations revealed a ring-enhancing lesion in the conus medullaris suggestive of neurocysticercosis. This was supported by quantitative enzyme-linked immunosorbant assay from purified cell fraction of taenia solium cysticerci. On treatment with steroids he showed marked improvement.

The change of the venular permeability and endothelial structure was studied with the aid of fluorometry and electron microscopy after application of H2O2. Transmural transfer rate of FITC-albumin++ and permeable fraction of the vessel walls were increased. There were formed the "leaks" and transendothelial canals in the venular endothelium. Numerous local membrane injuries of the endotheliocytes and pericytes, degranulation of the mast cells and destruction of thrombocytes into the vessel lumen were detected.

Consecutive serum samples were obtained from patients with syphilis before and on three occasions after treatment. The sera contained immunosuppresive factors associated with the immunoglobulin fraction, which could depress the natural killer cell activity of healthy controls. There was no evidence that allogeneic or lymphocytotoxic antibodies played a role in immuno-suppression, which could be reproduced with both soluble and insoluble antigen-IgG-antibody complexes.

Peritoneal mast cells from rats of BH- and DA-inbred strains were compared for their capacity to passive sensitization in vitro with mouse IgE antibodies.
