Most of the case of intussuception are considered idiopathic, up to 90-95%. In only a small proportion of them an organic cause is identified. The authors reviewed their experience, including 80 cases of intussusception out of which, 14 showed an organic cause. Six cases were lymphomas, four lymphoid hyperplasia of the colon, two Meckel's diverticulum, one enteric cyst and one Henoch's purpura. INTRODUCTION: The mesodiverticular band (MDB) is an embryologic remnant of the vitelline circulation, which carries the arterial supply to the Meckel diverticulum. In the event of an error of involution, a patent or nonpatent arterial band persists and extends from the mesentery to the apex of the antimesenteric diverticulum. This creates a snare-like opening through which bowel loops may herniate and become obstructed. A duodenal diverticulum (DD) appears in 2.5% of upper gastrointestinal (UGI) examinations and up to 22% of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreaticographies (ERCP) and autopsies. A 74-year-old man was admitted to our hospital with severe hematochezia. Abdominal enhanced computed tomography (CT) demonstrated extravasation of contrast material from the descending colon. Intestinal intussusception in adults is less common than in paediatric patients, and may be difficult to diagnose due to non-specific symptoms. Abdominal pain is the main clinical sign, but other symptoms such as nausea or transit disorders may also be present. Inguinal hernia is a common general surgery presentation. Large inguinoscrotal hernias can contain large bowel, omentum, small bowel, Meckel's diverticulum but rarely ureter and bladder. If the omphalomesenteric duct in the umbilicus is not properly closed, an ileal-umbilical fistula, sinus formation, cysts, or, most commonly, Meckel's diverticulum can develop. We report a case of advanced colon cancer after closure of a colostomy. A 77-year-old man suddenly began experiencing abdominal pain and pan-peritonitis due to perforate diverticulum of the sigmoid colon. Omphalomesenteric duct (OMD) remnants and omphalocele are not infrequently seen in paediatric patients. In most of the cases, OMD remnant in an omphalocele is a Meckel's diverticulum; however rarely there may be other lesions. A one-day old male baby underwent surgery for omphalocele. A 50-year-old woman who was given a diagnosis of acute appendicitis was referred to our hospital. Because an abdominal enhanced CT revealed a dilated and cystic lesion in the appendix, operation was performed under the diagnosis of the suspicion of acute appendicitis or appendiceal mucocele. In this report, we discuss a case of obscure gastrointestinal bleeding (OGIB) in an 18-year-old man, where oesophagogastroduodenoscopy (OGD) and colonoscopy proved inconclusive in determining a source of bleeding. On day 14 of admission, a laparoscopy was performed, identifying a mass 2 feet from the ileocaecal junction.
