White scars are defined in this study as mature hypopigmented surgical or traumatic scars whose color is much lighter than surrounding skin, to the extent that they appear white. These scars are often obvious and very difficult to treat or mask. Foveal hypopalsia (FH) is typically seen in association with diseases like albinism and aniridia, and familial FH (FFH) is very rare. The authors present a case of unique association of FH with dyschromatosis universalis hereditaria (DUH). Family members of this patient had history of nystagmus and dermal pigmentary anomalies, suggesting that this may represent FFH with DUH in X-linked pattern. Folliculotropic mycosis fungoides (MF) is a distinct subset of cutaneous T cell lymphoma (CTCL). The disease is typically marked by an aggressive course and is often recalcitrant to skin-direct therapy. We report a case of an 83-year-old woman with folliculotropic MF characterized by erythematous, scaly plaques on the forehead along with poliosis and alopecia of the right medial eyebrow.

Eccrine chromhidrosis can occur secondary to hyperbilirubinemia. We report an adolescent with sickle cell disease who presented with eccrine chromhidrosis on his palmar and plantar surfaces. He had extremely high levels of conjugated bilirubin but no fever. This is the youngest known reported patient with eccrine chromhidrosis and the first in a patient with sickle cell disease.

Neonatal jaundice is a common condition that occurs in newborn infants in the first week of life. Agminated flexural melanocytic nevi in children with a history of Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) are rare and thought to be coincidental or related to systemic chemotherapy. We report on an 11-year-old boy in remission from LCH, treated with only topical steroids, who presented years later with an eruption of melanocytic nevi in the bilateral inguinal and axillary regions. Rather than coincidence, we hypothesize that agminated flexural melanocytic nevi are a late sequela of LCH, possibly resulting from immune tolerance or a reaction to local inflammation.

INTRODUCTION: Some cutaneous lesions might be the first clinical manifestation of diseases with systemic involvement. This article aims to review the relevant dermatological semiology for the concerning diseases with neurological involvement in childhood.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: Review of the related literature indexed to MedLine published in the last twelve years.
RESULTS: The main relevant nosologic groups include the genodermatosis (namely neurocutaneous syndromes), pigmentary, vascular and endocrine disorders, congenital enzymatic deficiencies and occult spinal dysraphisms.
