OBJECTIVE: Preliminary evidence suggests a comorbidity between attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and obesity. This study was carried out to identify the clinical characteristics of obese adolescents with a higher probability of ADHD and advance the understanding of the potential factors underlying the comorbidity between obesity and ADHD. The incidence of reported pertussis has increased during the past decade and poses a growing health and economic burden in developed countries, despite high rates of primary vaccination. Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) is a complex genetic disorder. This study used whole-genome sequencing (WGS) to investigate the genetic basis of AIS in 119 patients from 103 families. Our WGS analysis identified known pathogenic or protein-truncating variants in 15 probands, and other strong or moderate candidate variants in 69 additional patients.
