Cultured epidermal autografting has been employed in a variety of clinical treatments including vitiligo management. In this study, we successfully treated 2 patients with vitiligo using a short-pulsed CO2 laser and by grafting the autologous cultured epidermis. It was aimed to determine the normal hair scores of women of Kirikkale region according to the Ferriman- Gallwey scale and to investigate the relationship between the hair shaft diameter and hair scores. Hair scores were calculated in 204 healthy women, and hair shaft diameters were measured from the hair samples collected from 60 patients. BACKGROUND: The clinical significance of cutaneous depigmentary phenomena in patients with malignant melanoma is not clear. There are two varieties: 1) vitiligo (VIT), and 2) leukoderma acquisitum centrifugum (LAC).
METHODS: In order to evaluate the outcome of our patients with malignant melanoma and skin depigmentation (VIT or LAC), the patients in this study with this association were retrospectively reviewed and compared with the total melanoma patients at the Oncology Hospital and the XXI Century National Medical Center of the Mexican Social Security Institute in Mexico City.

A study of 57 cutaneous melanocytic tumors from 53 horses revealed 4 distinct clinical syndromes: melanocytic nevus, dermal melanoma, dermal melanomatosis, and anaplastic malignant melanoma. To investigate which flap donor sites are adequate for facial cutaneous reconstruction in terms of color match, the skin color of the check and of various flap donor sites was measured with a chroma meter in 40 Japanese volunteers. Dyskeratosis congenita is an inherited disorder characterized by nail dystrophy, skin pigmentary changes, mucosal leukoplakia, pancytopenia and an increased incidence of malignancy. Because of a widely held view that the outcome of bone marrow transplantation in dyskeratosis congenita is poor, this treatment option is sometimes not considered when pancytopenia develops. We present a child currently doing well 3 years after bone marrow transplantation, and review the literature.
